Most likely so, but the rest of us would have taken at least 20 minutes to do the job, with a jack or hoist, a sledge hammer and a couple of 4x4s .....

They deliberately over inflate the tires when they install them at the shop in order to seat the bead on the wheel. They should then drop the pressure to whatever the car requires. They obviously missed that last step. They change pressure about 1 psi for every 10 degrees so you would have been way high when hot out.

Tire pressure always should be set to ambient temperature.

As for why, TCoat already covered it. Don't go back to that tire shop again.
