cf6mech... Looking forward to your LS swap project.. It is certainly a large undertaking that needs to be engineered correctly..
I must comment on your vette comment though.. They may look boring on the outside.. But that's not the case from the drivers seat.. Those little old ladies driving them are helping to defray the cost of them.. Not many youngins can afford a 50k+ ride..
Having owned several late model vettes including 2 Z06's. I can tell you that they are very capable performance machines and work well as DD..
They are also built on a full chassis and have a steel torque tube running from the engine to the rear mounted tranny/diff setup which houses the driveshaft and acts as a spine for extra rigidity. In other words.. It's built to handle the torque and speeds the engine is capable of.. Dropping that much power in a car designed for low power and tq better have some good engineering behind it.
Unibody cars might need seam welding and other supports to handle the power..
I got tired of driving my vettes in the real world after 15 years worth. And I wasn't capable enough on the track to explore its capabilities.. So I'm liking my low power low grip car that I get to use most of its power most of the time in the real world.. Between my camaros and vettes.. I owned the LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6 and LS7.. And an LT1.. Everything except the LS9.. They are awesome engines.. Power comes on like a light switch and they pull hard all the way to redline.. I miss my 0-60 blasts.. But the FRS is more fun overall.. IMO
GM was smart to keep the pushrods and keep tweaking them.. Good luck with your project.. It sounds like you're going to do it right..

Just make sure you sell it as a kit. If I'm proven wrong I'd like to have options.

That's the sole purpose of my car,....but I have said to much and have been told to refrain from any more info.....kind of over stepped my boundaries....check with vorshlag.com for future developments.
