Fix on chipped/peeling brembo brakes?

Anyone with a brz w/ performance package brembo brakes run into this problem with chipping or peeling calipers? Was a bit smaller before now looks like it's peeling more... Might be clear coat peeling?

Not sure if anyone knows of a fix or if it would would fall under warranty factory...

It will not hurt to ask for warranty. If they do not replace it is just the clear peeling you will need to clean/prep and respray the clear. Better to do it soon before the red paint gets damaged.

That looks like there was contamination under the clear coat when it was applied. I would look into warranty but like Grady said it wouldn't be hard to fix on your own. It is a caliper after all so it will not stay pristine forever.

Alright gonna try to see what dealership says...

but worst case scenario they say no just getting a can of clear coat should work? Clean caliper first then go over the spots peeling and spray 2-3 times with clear coat? Doubt it's gonna look perfect but just to protect it from peeling further more...

The header will not void your warranty for your brakes.

Definitely report back. Mine look fine after a little more than 2.5 years.

The concept of actually caring about paint on brake calipers to the point of making a warranty claim is completely foreign to me.

He won't want them to know the header was ever there when he blows his engine later.

Oh my god! Are you ok? I have an emotional support bear if you need it.
How dare those assholes skip on clear coat on the brakes. You should put them on blast on social media and get that asshole fired.

Jokeing asided. Sell car. It's totaled. No one would ever want clear coat fail on the brakes. So good luck on the sale. You know what duck the sale. Just take it to your local junk yard and have it crushed.

Lol alright ass clown thanks for the pointless input

But anyways was basically wondering if anyone else had theirs chip/peel easily didn't think it'd chip away already in 2ish years. Seen other cars with brembos paint completely fade after way longer time.

Will update later on not too big of a deal at least it's not faded to hell

I had a set fade to pink after a few track days.

Heat and contamination will eat the clear coat.

Some wheel cleaners eat clearcoat.

I would just add it to the list of battle scars you get streeting or tracking cars.

Nothing lasts forever, no matter how much you hope they do.

Repainting can be done, but, it's going to cost a big bag of cash if you want it to last and not look backyard spec, not that there is anything wrong with back yard spec, but if your not happy with that little bit of discoloration you will hate a cheap sub-par job.

Recommend getting them coated after you get this issue fixed, brakes are meant be *one* of the harshest parts on the car, because you know brakes.

Recommend CarPro DLux with 2-3 layers and re-up every 2-3 years.
