Ok. Got the 2017 engine into the 13' chassis. I've been driving it for a week with no drivability issues. I had to change EVERY SINGLE SENSOR from the 17' back to the 13', so if you plan on doing this, that means you have to replace the DI seals grommets and gaskets and the rail because the fuel pressure sensor is different. I also had to take the cam gears from the 13' engine. It was a lot of work, but the engine runs just fine. I also had to change to a high boost supercharger pulley (18psi) I had laying around because the old belt broke on me. It pulls hard AF but I can't go passed 6k without running lean. Time to get back into tuning.
*EDIT* The boost pulley was too small and engine couldn't handle anything passed 18psi. I got a pulley that was slightly larger that still maxed out at 16psi but I'm now able to get to the 7500rpm rev limit no sweat. As of today 3/21/19 there has been absolutely no issues with the 2017 engine swap. Added more info in a separate post: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...3&postcount=78 *Double Edit* STILL running strong as of 9 23 19. Supercharged FRS wrecks that booty! Why did you have to replace the cam gears?

I'm not completely sure, but I was working with a Subaru tech during this time; it was something about the sensors inside the cam gears that are different.

Or will this give me issues with the immobilizer (can this be replaced or issues with the cluster)? Perhaps, do a '19 swap and splice new connectors on the existing '13 harness to connect to the '19 sensors? I'm open to suggestions, but I'd like to do this sometime. |

I have swap a 17 FA20 into my 16 everything plugged in where should a side the alternator. My issue now is that all it does it crank and popping crank position sensor code. I can’t seem to find any write up for 17 into 16 just this thread.

I was told if you have a '13 Chassis, the latest engine swap you can do easily is '17. Other than the engine swap, you just need to swap out of the cam gears from the '13.
Can anyone else confirm this? |

If you read this thread, you would know that 13-15 can be swapped easily. 16+ engine into 13-15 chassis is not plug n play.

I see in D-VO's swap did this and the sensors from the '13 due to the '17 wire harness being used. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's the way I'm interpreting it. |

I've only ever bought used engines and when that's the case, if you need the sensors you have to make sure they're included. The used 2013 engine I bought a little while back didn't have the cam gear actuators on the timing cover so I had to reuse mine. Definitely need someone else to chime in |
