I think this will be a popular tire size/wheel spec. I'll be doing the same.

So you see more grip on this car as a benefit?
I thought it's legal speeds adjustability was one of the huge selling points of the car?
Adding more grip is just going to dial that out. On the track sure fine, on the road, not so much.

Best case senerio I kill the stockers in a summer cause I cant stop driving the car, then make the stock wheels my winter setup. I still have a set of decent Yokohama ice guards which should fit.

With this car I'm thinking 225 up front and 245/255 out back.

I plan to go with 235/40-17 Dunlop Star Specs all around. On stock or stock sized wheels if possible, although I realize 7" of wheel width is a little narrow for that size, I'll at least give it a try.

Not particularly, I wouldn't bother changing the tires out if I got the car. It would be best if they came with 16" wheels since tires are cheaper. If I were to buy the car, whatever tires it comes with, I'll use them up, and then buy the next set based on whatever good deal I can find, maybe summer performance to see what the craze is all about.

However a lot of people appear to see higher grip tires as something very important, so I'm suggesting that perhaps they shouldn't be focusing on tire size but rather tire compound.

I've only been reading this forum for a few hours but sheesh this line of thinking is already getting old. There are plenty of ways to remedy the understeer.
