So I drove my buddy's turbo BRZ today and holy shit I think I need that in my life. As soon as Jackson Racing releases their oil cooler for the 17+, I'll get that and then stop all upgrades to prepare for #Boost.

I'm still doing research but I think I'm gonna go with the JDL kit. I looks like that kit doesn't require modifying the fuel system, has a pretty easy install, and great reviews. Also UEL since I love the sound.

My goal is 10 months to purchase the kit and then we'll get BRAAAAAPP-WHOOOSSSHHHHH by March 2019.

Was wondering if you were tracking the car without an oil cooler. Have you been monitoring oil temps at the track?

Yeah I have! The hottest I've seen so far is 270F at 85F ambient which is pretty uncomfortable to me. I've been avoiding the hot Texas summer track days, its only been spring/fall days so far. Hopefully JR finishes their kit soon.

270 - yikes! Any ETA from Jackson? I put a 2013-2016 intake on my 2017 in order to run an oil cooler. There’s another thread showing the parts needed.

The last contact I had with them was ~2 weeks ago via email where they said the production pieces were being made now, and should be out "very soon". Hopefully its before February so I can get it installed by the March track day.

A couple years ago I mined some bitcoin as a personal project (I was trying to build a budget supercomputer). 1.9997 bitcoin sold last week. Looks like the turbo build might be happening sooner than I expected. Pricing it all out now, and hopefully will have everything ordered by the time it warms up in the spring. Goal now is to be #BOOSTED by my birthday in June!

Its taking a lot of willpower to not tell Vorshlag to swap in an LS V8... I was there this morning to pick up some stainless steel lines and fresh RBF fluid and they were making it difficult to not spend all my money immediately.

So many things are happening:

Southbend Stage 2 clutch kit was delivered, a new OEM TOB and flywheel with ARP flywheel bolts are on the way.
The dealership has set aside some trans/diff crush washers for me, I'll pick them up this weekend.
And the JDL turbo kit has been ordered! EL Manifold, GT2860R turbo, bronze thermal coating, wrinkle red charge piping, and recirculated wastegate.

I am very excited.
