Shoud I bother? One inch Stagger

I picked up some nice wheels last fall...old school JDM light weight forged...the were a perfect match of stock rims...17x7 +45mm offset. Now it seems I have a chance at a set of same model rims but 17x8 +35mm. Not quite as nice of a deal since one is bent...but, I could stagger them with the 8" in back and have a couple of spares for the front an one for the back...

What say you...8" on the back tame some of the tail happy & spin on take off? Or not worth the bother and expense...

They would be fine for DD. I have tried a few different staggered setups. IMO the smaller the tire stagger the better. It started feeling weird at 30mm difference or more.

Anyway, If you want the wheels, then go for it. I think a 215/45/17 and a 225/45/17. Or a 225/45 and 245/40/17, for a bit meatier setup, would work. I DD'd both these combos with no real draw backs. It was when I went 215/245 that the front started to fight to keep traction. I never understeered, but the car wanted to. I am 245 square on 9" wide now...

Post a pic of the wheels, please!

My set came off a mid Aught's Audi TT...the original red stems are almost faded back to metal.

TBH, I'd keep the square, but go with the 17x8 +35 Square. Although different wheels, I like how this looks on my car (stock 215/45/17 tires).

Kosei wheels are lightweight!

IDK about old school, those were available on tirerack when I bought my twin. And, they also were, IIRC, $200 each. So, IMO, they are not worth fixing unless you HAVE to have them.

I would just stick with what you have or get 4 different wheels. I can't suggest buying damaged wheels in this case.
Sorry, but that's what I think...

^nice setup....Yeah I'd love to go to 18x8...but, with the 17x8 set I'm not sure the bent one can be fixed...

I wasn't clear; my wheels are indeed 17x8 +35.. People say they look bigger than they are though.

Love the concaveness of the 17x8's! I wanted the GTF1 17x9's, but ended up with Konigs because they cost about half of the price. Your car looks great!

Being Canadian is a plus, they are cheaper than comparable spec Konigs here at about 180$ a wheel.

I wouldn't waste your money on that. Awesome profile pic though.
