They weren't subtle with the naming of the June 12th picture, not that showing a yellow car didn't make it obvious. (specialseriesy.jpg)

LOL! If I would have to guess it's probably one of those 3 letter companies (one is red and the other blue) that made the OE brakes on my old Golf.

Because layout changed. Specially higher grade comes way way WAY better gauge.

Trust me, I thought bout it too... til finding out that it "can" fit, but it "won't" work on zenki (<'16 models) I was heart broken.

All this talk about the price suddenly makes me really content with how much I paid for a 2015 over waiting for the 2017 (I'd probably have buyer's remorse if I got a '17 and didn't get the Brembos knowing they're an option).

If the June 12th release is a special edition with an actual performance boost though, I'm going to give my wallet a viking funeral.

Also, @Tcoat, what the hell happened to the Canadian FR-S price. It's always been a simple 300-400 dollars over the price on Scion.ca whenever I've seen it at my local dealer. How is it suddenly $32k. Does pure pricing not apply anymore since Scion is kill? I strongly doubt that dealers would list advertisements with pricing that already includes tax.

Not really. The g force indicator will require accelerometers, which will be located somewhere in the car, but probably not in the gauge cluster. The digital fuel display will be receiving a completely different signal than the current analog display, which receives a signal that simply tells it to reorient the needle. The digital speedo signal is probably rolled in with fuel signal if they're on the same display. The analog tach is probably still the same, analog speedo is probably still the same, and the various warning indicators are probably still the same. So you'll need the accelerometers, whatever is sending the speed/fuel information (probably the ECU), and the new wiring harness.

Also to add, internal revision makes things almost impossible for zenki. Not worth the money.

Yeah but we must remember. People will part these cars out. Your start to see rims being sold left and right. Headers also being sold because people will want catless etc....these parts wont he worth much. They will only be expensive at the stealership lol

Yes I was referring to buying new not the parts that will inevitably show up for sale. But why bother? If a guy with the new parts is pulling them off to improve then why would the next guy want to put them on?

Because not everyone "improves" it. People think each part is completely independent from one another and don't think how components are designed to work with each other.

Pure pricing never meant they had to charge the MSRP. It just meant they had to advertise each individual car for the same price no matter where it was presented. If a dealer wanted to sell for $100,000 they could as long as the price for that particular car (not all, just that one) on the internet, on the car and in any other documents said $100,000. I have no idea why the price has gone up in some markets.

Good point! I was presuming that only people that knew what they were doing would consider it. Yes, I can indeed see people buying the bits and pieces in the mistaken belief that since they are newer there must be massive gains to be had. They would be disappointed.

I think the word you guys looking for is synergy.

When I went to get new nuts and bolts for the rear suspension arms, I saw on the Subaru parts computer that almost all the nuts and bolts and various bits like the endlinks on the car were revised even by the 2nd model year as a running change. I've went thru this exercise twice now and all 3 sets of stretch nuts and bolts are made differently.

If you want real gains and improvements as a whole, just buy the 2017 and start all over lol!
