tuned by delicious. I'm running a custom kit, fabbed by driven fabrication, locally here. This car will be getting a built motor, but probably not until early next year.

I'm running an efr 6758 and will be running their flexfuel kit, aiming for around 400-420 rwhp.

This thread makes me rethink going FI. Like others have said, you pay to play the game. As much as I would like to play, I think Id prefer to not pay LOL. I was thinking of approximately 5-6k to go FI but since this is my only car, any downtime, etc wont work for me. Also, Im not as mechanically inclined as about 99.9% of the people on here. Thank you for this thread.

Everyone that blew a motor should place the manufacturing date. A lot of blown motors seem random. Maybe we can correlate the the date to the blown motor

Primarily revolving around the tuning or installation mistake.

You mean the turbo isn't supposed to blow exhaust into the intake? Dammit!

@mkivsoopra has been driving his FI FA20 motor into the ground at the local tracks in the area for the past 2 years @ ~300 whp. Motor is still healthy and just verified it is making the expected power still (recent dynojet pulls). I'll let him chime in on how many track days/weekends he has done on the kit so far.

Like @King Tut said, if tuned right, kit is solid, and installation is solid... it seems the motor holds up reasonably well at sub 350 whp levels.

I have 20 track days in this car so far, 19 of them were FI. At the track, I run wastegate boost pressure (~6.5 psi) on some blend of E85 and 91.... usually between E50 and E80. At E80, that's around 290 whp for me, which is plenty for the track. On the street, I'm at ~10 psi, and once in a while, ~14 psi. As @sw20kosh said, the motor is still healthy!

What oil weight and brand are you using? Do you regulate the oil temps? Glad to read some good news on this page
