No grammar check either, I'm not seeing any verbs in that 'sentence'.

There was an article within the past year about their dyno results, and I think the WRX was pretty much superior in terms of torque -- in both peak and curve. And then its gas mileage is a good amount better, if you care. I just can't trust the STI's motor -- I personally know more STI owners who have had engine issues than I should.
Yeah, the new WRX motor is impressive. I think I would quickly change the suspension, brakes, wheels/tires and get a tune... But that's what I am trying to avoid. I can't leave anything alone. The STI on the other hand is track ready stock (not that I track often anyways). Also, with the EJ concerns I would want to keep the STI stock for warranty reasons.

In the end I will probably just keep my BRZ, but the other options are very appealing at this time in my life.

But going from a BRZ to a WRX/STI, you'd already have improvements in a lot of those categories. Frankly I think both factory options for wheels on the 2015 STI are underwhelming (plus the BBSs on the STI Limited seem so boring), so it's not as if going with an STI over a WRX is guaranteed to save you the trouble of swapping out wheels.

I've already said it, but the WRX is just so much of a better buy for your money than the STI is. For a 2.0T with that kind of peak hp (and not just in the 180-220 hp range where it's easy to tune for drivability), its torque delivery is pretty good. It's obviously not going to have the same feel as a light RWD coupe, but it's a huge, huge improvement over past WRXs. Plus remember that even the previous gen WRX/STI were really close in terms of track performance when Car & Driver did their Lightning Lap at VIR, and that was when the WRX had a detuned version of the 2.5-liter, so with the newer motor with a stronger torque curve than the STI's, the gap between them shouldn't change too much, as both cars share the same new chassis, just the STI might get some extra goodies.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I've test driven so many cars, but my Evo has been paid off since maybe 2010, so a lot of money has just been getting saved -- likely to go toward a house, wedding, etc., but a new car is always a possibility, but not a lot has really grabbed me to the point where it would make me want to get rid of my car. But if it were to get totaled, part of me was thinking either a BRZ Series.Blue (though they're all probably sold by now) or a WRX, though being in my 30s, I've looked further upstream too. My older brother picked up a 2015 320i last November, and for having numbers (180 hp and 200 lb-ft) well below what I'm used to, it actually doesn't feel all that slow. I had actually looked at the 2015 C-Class, but when you spec it the way you want it, it becomes way more expensive than you'd think. We'll see how much the 2016 C450 AMG is when it comes out though

I feel like I am sitting in a corolla. There is nothing exciting about it. The seats and driving position in the BRZ are awesome.

I do love the BRZ and have done a fair amount of mods on my own (vortech, springs, exhaust, bushings, stuff). I like working on cars and working on this car. But my job has been crazy, I live in a condo without a garage and need to drive 30 min each way to my brothers garage where all my tools are to accomplish anything. The STI would be sweet and not need much, just a tune and maybe some wheels if I went with the base model. That would fit my current living situation so much better.

Do you think the benefits of the STI outweigh the awkward bench seat/driving position?

#firstworldproblems
I do, but that's why I made the switch. It's been about two weeks and I don't notice the driving position at all anymore. But, that could also be because we have a 2014 Impreza wagon in the family that has the same upright seating position. I think I actually like not having to peel myself out of the STi.

But, if you love the BRZ, by all means, keep it. It's an awesome car. I just started a family and probably have a few years on most people on this forum. The STi makes more sense for me than a BRZ.

That said, the STi is awesome. It's unlikely that you will regret making the switch if you do.

They made some nice changes considering sales are out the roof and they could have changed nothing. What are you thinking, base, premium, or limited?

If you get the manual, spend the $75 or so and get the Perrin shifter bushing, and Perrin shifter pitch stop. Takes about 40 minutes to do both mods and it makes the shifter so much better.

Limited CVT with Nav package. Wife needs to drive and I don't want to sit in bumper to bumper traffic with a manual for 3 hours everyday. The extra $400 for the Limited is a pretty good deal to get the upgrades and well worth it imo.

I'm really liking the additions to the Nav package despite the much higher price tag. I was actually ready to buy a 15 WRX Limited with Nav last week, but someone signed the deal for it while I was about to go on the test drive. If only we didn't let the baby take a nap...lolz.
