It should give you access to everything so you could tune a car from scratch if you like. If it does not contact your master tuner to see if their is problem with the software but it should offer access to all tables, custom, standard and special.

Bill I hope so, but it may need confirming. I emailed ECUtek themselves who suggested otherwise. There is definitely not access to all the standard tables on the ProECU BRZ option, which I originally thought there would be. For example I can change the Rad fan speed modes, but I have no visibility of the temperature settings. Seems a bit odd that I can alter one part of the setting but not the others when surely they are different parameters that work together.

Here's a quote from the email:

Seeing as I have access to Advanced level parameters now, that would suggest that there is a next user level up and that even if I buy RaceRom I won't have access to them, I have asked for clarification on this and is why I posted here for anyone who does have the upgrade to confirm. If that's true, I find that massively disappointing as it's not the complete solution that it should be. I stand behind ECUtek as a tuning platform but I don't understand why I should be restricted to certain maps which I would have access to if I used the free platforms. You pay for ECUtek to be given the extra features, not be stopped from changing basic parameters.

@EcuTek can this be looked at?

Can you take a screenshot of the window when you open a map?

That looks like a locked tune, hence you can't access anything.

Dear William
if RaceRom give us full access then what's difference of ProECU Tuning Suites (just for master tuners) and ProECU RaceRom (for general customers) ?

Thanks

When you upgrade your standard EcuTeK ProECU Cable and License to BRZ RaceROM it comes with RaceROM support and all the same features offered by EcuTeK Tuners.

The main difference, you can only use this software legally for your personal vehicle and can not be used for commercial use. Here is a quick video we did this morning so we could show you have to activate all the features of BRZ RaceROM. (It might still be processing on YouTube)

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60qlZlnhPHo"]EcuTeK ProECU BRZ RaceROM Upgrade - YouTube[/ame]

Here is a quick break down on how to activate all the BRZ RaceROM features.

1. Insert your EcuTek (DK2) USB Dongle into an open USB Port
2. Open EcuTeK ProECU Software
3. File -> Open to open a stock OEM BRZ/FRS/86 ROM
4. Click on the RaceROM tab to add RaceROM support
5. Click the “Add RaceROM Features” and select the matching RaceROM Patch
6. Click on the Maps tab and you will now see RaceROM features active

That is about it.

Cheers,
William Knose

So this is confirmed, access to all standard ROM maps?

Has no-one here actually got the RaceRom upgrade to confirm? @nelsmar?

EDIT: @EcuTek have emailed me back confirming that neither retail version gives the same access as the "real" tuners. The email pretty much stated it's an enthusiasts product and if you want proper tune, then get a master tuner to do it.

I have the RaceROM upgrade right in front of me. I am looking at it and that is what the video is suppose to show above but YouTube is having it's issues today. LOL.

As I stated if you purchase the EcuTeK BRZ RaceROm upgrade you have access to RaceROM maps/features AND standard maps. You have the same access to tuning your own vehicle as does an EcuTeK Tuner. You just do not have access to the tuners maps as they are more than likely locked.

Here are some pictures below of what you have access to and link to mroe information about RaceROM upgrade on our website: RaceROM Upgrade

There is one level up from "Advanced", and that is "Beta". Only the Trade version has access to Beta parameters for testing and reporting. So the retail version of RaceRom gives retail customers access to everything the trade version provides that is released as "Production" except for Beta items, which EcuTek relies on its Tuner network to work with in further developing the software. Beta items may not be stable and would not be suited for a retail release.

As Beta items are tested and deemed stable, the status is changed to one of the production status levels such as "Advanced", making that item available to the retail product.
