Welp, folks ....... ol humfrz turned 75 years old today........

Yep, as the old CW song goes ..... "I woke up still not dead today" ......

Another year and no jealous husbands caught up with me ......

I celebrated by cleaning out the eves prior to a storm coming tomorrow.

Last year was my last year cleaning off the roof ...... I have no business up there ..... now, it's a son-in-law job.

I'm thinking this might be my last year on a double ladder even cleaning out the eves ..... I have no business being up there ...... another son-in-law job......

Which brings to mind a back-in-the-day story, back when I was about 10 years old.

It was a hot day in August, back on the farm, and the crops were laid by ..... so, it was the year to paint the barn. @Tcoat - have I told this story before ... ??

Now the big barn was quite high and the gables were the highest point. The old, rickety, wire bandaged up, wooden ladder set (even extended past the safety point) wouldn't reach the top.

So, my father pulled up our 1941 Ford 1.5 ton truck up to the end of the barn. Now here was the plan, my father set up the double ladders in the bed of the truck and I was to climb all the way to the top and paint.

When it came time to move, my grandfather would fire up the truck, my father would swing the ladder set away from the barn (with me up there) and my grandfather would pull the truck up a few feet.

I still have acrophobia

(no CPS back then....)

THE END

No... I am hinting that the AM/PM system is very antiquated and somewhat local.

Year and month: YYYY-MM (eg 1997-07) OK pretty normal everyplace but what exacty is wrong with month names even in different languages?
Simply that being fluent in any specific language should not be required to read a date.

Complete date plus hours, minutes and seconds: YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ssTZD (eg 1997-07-16T19:20:30+01:00) Am I timing an egg boiling somtime in the future?
The "+01:00" in that example indicates the time zone offset as reference to UTC, previously known as GMT, often referred to as "Zulu time" by military forces in NATO aligned countries.
This makes it possible to see what the given time will be in any time zone around the globe.

Doesn't matter anyway since we still can't get the Americans to understand measurements based on units of 10.

Not convinced that W3C is exactly supporting this standard.

Yeah, try having the company be acquired. Boom. You're nothing again.

A contribution I made almost single handedly in 2010 was valued (over 5 years) higher than the purchase price...

Hi, yes I'd love to do the job I was doing 10 years ago again, thanks!

My biggest worry is that there is an assumption I'll take on management stuff.

Grumblegrumble.

Because I've got hangups on those, too.

Base 8 is superior for humans, one can easily count to 24 (yes, that's base 10…) with the digits on two average hands.
