I started changing stuff after about 6months of driving and reading/researching this Forum. The following items listed in chronological order:
Ceramic coating Dropped height, spacers and camber bolts UEL, OP, FP & drop in filter Tune & CAI Engine and transmission mounts upgraded I am very happy with this lot.. next is the tyres... But don't have the heart to throw out the OEMs as they only have circa 12.5k miles.. |

Congrats on the new car and welcome to the community!
I'd say keep it 100% stock for the time being, especially if you are afraid of voiding your warranty. Eh, life's too short, mod it how you like By keeping it stock, it'll make you appreciate the car as is. Through experience with the car, you'll know what mods would work for you. It would depend on your vision of your car as well(i.e. Track, Stance, DD, etc.) I didn't mod my car until around 6 months or so. Even then, it was just minor mods. My recommendation for a first mod would be a Catback/Axleback Exhaust. Having an exhaust wouldn't give much power gains but it’ll definitely make it sound better. My recommendations for future mods: - Header and tune - Wheels - Tires - Suspension - Brakes |

Everyone says to keep it stock for a bit... But, that's not why I bought mine. I started modding my car as soon as I parked it in my driveway.
Anyway, I had to change a few things right away. My first mod was to unplug the relay that turns on one headlight at half power as the Day Time Running light. I feel that this was a STUPID way of adding a running light. So I deactivated it. TINT - I tinted the windows in the first few days. 10" SUB - My car had the base stereo - adding a sub was a must. LED interior lights. - I replaced all the interior lights with LED lights I made. 17x7.5 wheels - the stock wheels on my 13 were UGLY! Lowered 1" on ProKit springs - I installed them myself. The wheel gap bothered me. Then, my car was good to go for awhile...

Right now I am running a 10 in a box that's too small. It was more of an experiment. I have it powered on an amp that I took out of a TS-WX50 Pioneer powered sub. It's only 50watts... I have had 3 different 10" woofers. (and one 6.75" woofer) I built 4 different boxes for the 10" woofers and two different for the 6.75". I have been looking here: https://www.parts-express.com/ At dayton audio subs... Specifically these: https://www.parts-express.com/dayton...ProductDetails https://www.parts-express.com/dayton...-coil--295-510 I am planning on building a small box that fits inside my full size spare 18x8 wheel in my trunk. I have a prototype box built now to test the placement. I like the 10" subs I have been playing with, but am leaning towards the 8" dayton in a 0.5 cubic foot sealed box. We will see.... Thanks.

Not sure where you live but ceramic tint was the first thing I did, then arm rest and had the outside polished and ceramic coated. Did all of them within the first two weeks. Finally got some different tires at 13k miles, what a difference they made. Nothing over the top, but some uhp all seasons. Next up I think is a JRSC as my commute is about to go from 70 miles a day to 7.

I'd suggest a Tullock spike.

If you're buying an intake, you haven't done enough reading here. Drive it for awhile first before doing anything

Unless you want to get absolutely shit on, do a lot more research. Especially if the car is a 17+.

I drove it for a year fully stock even on the track. Then drove it the second year on the track with stickier tires and a few handling mods (KW V3, sway bars snd strut bars). Now I added a Cosworth supercharger kit and can't wait to get it back on the track next spring.
It is really a good experience to increase the handling before you increase the power. You'd be amazed at how much you can gain from this. I gained 5 seconds on a 2:00 minutes track and 3 on a 50 seconds track just by handling. I expect to gain maybe one second on the short track and probably another 5 seconds on the long one with the power. We'll see next year... |

I will echo what most have said so far. There is no sense in throwing a pile of money at something you don't understand yet. The best thing you can do now is drive the car and see for yourself what it does well and what it doesn't based on your needs and likes. I don't think of tint and lights, etc. as "mods", but if that's your thing, you might say and others can chime in.
1) Intakes do nothing in these cars. I went with a K&N panel filter and a Perrin intake tube, just to clean up the engine bay and remove the noise-maker device. 2) Camber bolts and an alignment are a no-brainer and almost free. Definite first mod. 3) Drive the car a lot and enjoy it as-is. From here, it depends on you. Tell us more about your experience and what you are going to do with the car: Street/Daily? Where? Autocross? HPDE? Gumball? LOL |
