P0037 Fix

Hey guys! Did a few searches but, would rather have a second opinion. Also not sure if this is the right section.

So after getting my catless header, the person installing advised me not to install the secondary O2 sensors because the threads could damage my header so instead he put a plug that sealed it.

Initially I thought the OFT was going to disable it since I was told all it did was check if my catalyic converter is going alright and healthy. I thought the OFT was going to stop P0037 but, apparently it only fixes P0420.

I have the rear O2 sensor in my trunk. Is it possible to just ziptie or somehow tape it onto the side to make to keep it plugged it so I don't have to wipe P0037 every time I get into the car?

One running catless header should use ecu tune with it for several reasons. In proper ecu tune cat readiness tests should be disabled. No need to mess with weird hacks on sensor.

Yeah. I have an OFT but, that only disables P0420 though.

Is there a way to completely disable P0037 with Rom Raider?

P0037 - HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low Bank 1 Sensor 2

You could have googled. Most often it's damaged wiring/plug or fuse (EFI HTR #29). Most often fixing damaged wiring gets rid of the P0037. I have guess that it may have happened during your new header install.

Er I should elaborate. Basically the 2nd O2 sensor isn't plugged in. At all.

I know what it is I'm just curious if there's a way to route it.

I didn't install it because the threads came out horribly when the installer took it out of the stock header.

Instead there's just a cap.

P0037 is rear 02 heater circuit low

This will be because you have removed rear 02 sensor

best reinstall it.

Car will run fine with it reinstalled

no need to remove it, however if you do remove rear 02 you need to disable a bunch of codes in tune plus disable the rear 02 fueling compensations.

best easiest solution is to reinstall rear 02 and plug it in to wiring harness

Im not sure what this guy is talking about "threads will damage header" if the sensor wont thread into header easily run a thread tap M18 by 1.5mm through header threads to clean it up.

Yeah he said it was useless since all the rear 02 sensor did was check to see if the cat was working which it wasn't because it's catless.

I have to plug it into the port though right?

OP needs to do a little more reading- it's all on this forum. The car still needs the rear of sensor, reinstall it. Tune to get rid of the p0420. Don't listen to what some dude said and don't think so much.

Alright cool.

I hope it's doable without taking out the header again. I should be able to slip down under or can do it through the engine bay

@guybo and steve99 is correct, you must have both o2 sensors installed regardless.

I don't know how you expect to mod a car without educating yourself about the mods you're installing. Also taking advice of someone who installed the header that obviously doesn't know this car well enough isn't smart...

I made that comment based on his post history

He doesn't seem to know much about the car and is only NA
