It gave us the details of the changes for the MY15 car, which obviously doesn't include engine changes, or else someone else would have mentioned them already. We don't need proof of things that are staying the same on the car.

It took the Miata 4 years to get a power bump, so the 86 probably won't see one until the next generation or JUST before it.

Subaru usually hasn't done huge power increases over the years, even in their turbo cars.

If anything engine wise, I'd like to see some tuning to remove that dip in the torque curve.

Why stop there? It's not too early to start speculating and flooding threads about the model 2018.

Speculation drives interest. Remember 2009?

"If it ain't broke don't fix it" the balance of the car is fine the way it is I wouldn't care if it got a power boost

Toyota is not Mazda. The last Toyota sports car never got a power bump. People were begging for the MR2 Spyder to get the 2ZZ from the beginning and every year thereafter. Despite the 2ZZ being more powerful, more reliable and readily available the Spyder/MR-S/MR2 Roadster ended production with the same motor it started its production run with. Historically, Toyota does not add HP or displacement during a model run.

Hundreds of us fixed Toyota's mistake ourselves and did the 2ZZ swap which is probably one of the easiest ever. Like the MR2 Spyder/MR-S/MR2 Roadster the FR-S/GT86/BRZ was made with the modding community in mind. For anyone that wants more power, the aftermarket has HP increases readily available and Toyota can avoid the massive expense of having to certify different power configurations. That is why I would be surprised.....really surprised....if the car gets any power increase during this model run unless it is a hybrid type power supplement which would be costly.
