Fed Up Waiting !

Warranty replacements also leaked , so I have a potential simple solution that costs 99 cents !

So far - tested with hose washes, light rain, now waiting for more extreme daily temp. changes and more severe wet weather -

Will post results !

A little over 10,000 miles and just got rear passenger tail light condensation. What is the new TSB # and/or can someone provide the latest .pdf?

Now I'm in the club. I scanned the thread a couple weeks ago but can't remember, is this due to a problem with the housing itself, or is it just a bad gasket placement/design/thickness?

It's potentially 3 different issues. Bent sheet metal around the bolt holes, over-torqued nuts which cracks the housing, or especially gaskets that are too thin and aren't properly sealed to the housings. I believe the updated nuts prevent the first issue, but the second is up to who installs them. Supposedly there is an updated gasket, but it still isn't sealed well enough.

I have aftermarket gaskets available if you need any.

After you wash the car - open the trunk and see where the suds collect at the base of the trunk lift piston housing.
Spray your back window and watch the water flow

There is a natural channel for water to continually assault the gasket.

I used snowman snot ( dollar store gooey gum for post it notes on fridge )
built a dam and water channel (placement is obvious) dribble water and modify the snot so the water flows away from the top of the gasket.

Instantly removable always pliable - re-usable.

So far so good for me - waiting for more severe temp and humidity changes for the long term test - will try to post pics soon.

You shouldn't have to fork out another $400-500 just because you got a defective part from factory...
If you don't deal with their problems they will assume it's all fixed now and do nothing for the future.

Yea I've had mine replaced before, and I'm going to have to go back in to have the left side replaced again. This set is 10x worse than the first.

Holy! That's tons, sometimes I get a a 1x1 condensation spot, not enough for me to bring it in yet. But that thing looks like you could keep a fish happy.
