i did but thats where my confusion is coming from, I've read conflicting reports online, some say the recommended api rating on the manual causes premature wear which doesn't make sense but I want to be sure before i put something faulty in my car. Specifically i know for the diff it says gl5 and for the transmission is says gl3 or upper but I've heard some ppl say not to put gl5 in the diff as it has something to do with friction modifiers and it causes early wear thats why I'm asking info from people who have done it

Well, now, arxm, I look at it this way; either we can go by what the manufacturers engineers recommend ....... OR ...... we can go with what SOMEONE on the forum has to say.

Since these cars are relatively new on the market, and very few of them have over 100,000 miles, I would be interested in hearing what they have to say ...... and see their data.

It's your call .......but, I'm going with what the manufacture recommends.....

thank you, I know its hard to argue with what the engineers recommend but sometimes theres better products out there. I remember on my accord, the gm synchromesh was worlds ahead of hondas mtf, guess I'm gonna put that order in soon

@finch1750 quality is so-so. The template sweidit uses are nice, but the material is really thin. Didn't expect for it to just be a single layer fabric for the price they charge. The parking brake boot was pretty much perfect, but the shift boot has a wide "mouth" for the shift linkage, and is way bigger than the plastic piece on the shift knob. I have the stock boot underneath it so that it's not just a gaping hole and so that the boot stays up.

That kinda sucks. Probably did it based on the MT as their knob is much wider. When I got my MT boot I had to put a snap button to get it to stay up

Yeah, for $130usd I was expecting to not have to make the boot work. Such is the plight of AT though.
