Yea that sucks. I had a car totaled by another driver. I called their insurance company 24 hours after the event and they had no report from their insured. Hung up and filed a claim with my company and let them deal with the other party. If they can't contact their own insured, I'll be damned if I am going to let the sniff my car let alone touch it.

Good luck and I hope the story ends today for you.

Looks like the old saying is true in this case the third times the charm, car finally looks back to normal I was inspecting it and the tiny scratch that was on my door and unrelated to the accident is gone so I'm thinking then went ahead and just redid the clear coat on the whole door they said to get back to them in a month after the paint has fully cured and let them know how it looks. Also I now own a tiny brush they left in my cup holder since I didn't notice it till I tried to put a drink in there. (Maybe I'll return it if I have to go back in a month)

Dealing with insurance is the worst!

Had some one steal a bunch of parts of my car causing a bunch of damage so I ended up getting investigated by the insurance company for a month only reasons they covered my shit was because the cops busted the kids who stole my shit for another theft that was reported and insurance was like 300 away from totaling my car.

Putting 87 in the car isn't going to hurt it one bit BTW.

The rest of your story sounds aggravating as hell though. Sorry.

I've never heard of paint needing some length of time after it's done before washing/waxing. My front end was repainted on this car and I wasn't told anything like that. In fact, they had washed it when I picked it up. My Xterra had the front end and part of the driver's side repainted and I washed it when I got home (still looks great 8-9 years later).

Well I was going to go ahead and reply to everyone's questions and comments but I'm currently to pissed to do that since today the paint did not improve as it cured it actually warped more and it now looks like i have a dent yet there is no dent to the touch so i'm guessing the pain warped underneath the clear coat making it look like a dent... I'm really pissed and going back in on Wednesday and talking to the insurance about maybe sending the car to one of their other shops this time maybe a shop what wont try and rush the job...

I am currently not going to release the names of the companies I'm dealing with as I still have to conduct business with them.

Dude sounds to me like you have a body shop issue rather than an insurance company issue?

This is why you research shops before dropping it off. And you can wash fresh paint within 24hrs with most urethanes. Just keep wax off until it fully out gasses. Usually 3 months during winter, 1 month during summer. The more UV light and heat the paint gets the faster the process

Not sure of your insurance company, but with mine (State Farm), if you use one of their preferred shops the work is guaranteed for life.

By law I could still go to whatever shop I wanted to, but their local preferred place is also one of the best rated ones around. No brainer. They've worked on 2 of our cars now, both of which looked perfect after w/ no issues.
