10/27/2018 | Nameless muffled track pipe

Updated exhaust! Nameless dual axleback was on before I got it. It sounded great, I just wanted something different and single exit. I ended up going with the Nameless muffled track pipe because it's such a high quality product at a low cost. Happy with my switch, sound clips may be posted soon.

Weight stuff: (pulled from http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42555 and Nameless Performance's website)

Stock: 26.1 lbs
Nameless dual: 17 lbs
Nameless single: 6lbs

Thanks! Nothing big at the moment, I want to try making an exhaust delete cover for the passenger side.

Depending on what’s around me, I think my next move will be some driver mod

11/3/2018 | Custom exhaust delete cover

Going single exit, I knew I would have an empty hole on the opposite side. I know there are covers available, but I wanted to try a custom approach recommended by someone on a local FB group.
The materiel I used is a plastic called kydex, purchased from amazon for around $12: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

In case you haven't seen an exhaustless FRS bumper...

Kind of revealing imo, unless you're trying to show off some flashy suspension components.
I started with a cardboard/blue tape (lol)/aluminum food tray stencil that I could easily bend, cut and add to to get the general shape correct.

Then, I traced the stencil on the backside of my work piece and cut it out with an acrylic knife.

After sanding the rough edges off from cutting, I started heating the materiel with a blow dryer to bend it. Being 0.06" thick, a heat gun or the oven was overkill for heating.

Test fitting...

I had to rivet on some extensions on the sides because my original mount pieces couldn't bend the same way as my cardboard stencil...

After fitting it up and drilling it in with self tapping screws, I took it off again to vinyl wrap the face that you see. The raw kydex didn't match in color to the bumper, so I used some left over satin black vinyl from my lip kit.

The finished product:

I used liquid nails between the extensions, the cover and the rivets to minimize movement.
More pictures from different angles...

Overall happy with the finished product for the price. There is a slight kink on the bottom and a dimple in the top, but you can't really see it unless you're looking at it from a crouched height or under the car.

Just some updates

11/12/18
Annual oil change! Nothing special, just more Mobil 1 5w-30 and an oem filter.

12/14/18
I’ve been wanting to try Raceseng’s Contour shift knob for a while now and it was in the Christmas clearance sale! I’m not sure how I like it compared to my Prolix I’ve had since it’s release. The shortened height makes it feel more direct, but feels like it has to travel further to go into gear... Although, it looks really nice with the shift gate engraving.

1/5/19
Recall time. Scheduled to go in next week, fingers crossed.

1/10/19
Back to stock... exhaust law revisions in CA made me do this. Will be holding onto my track pipe for, well... the track... or until everything is reversed? (Doubtful). Also swapping my intake to make the job easier for the poor Toyota tech that has to go into my Subaru engine.

(I apologize for the portrait pictures, all of this was taken with my phone through instagram stories)

1/14/2019 | Valve spring recall day

1/14/19
Dropped my FRS off at Toyota this morning for the valve spring recall. The person at the service desk said the work should take 3-5 business days if I remember correctly. Fingers crossed that everything goes smooth.

Update on my valve spring recall. Picked up the car last night, making the service time 1 week and some hours for me. Car runs smooth, while the engine was out I took the opportunity to get my throw out bearing and spark plugs replaced. Happy with my recall experience so far, will update if anything comes up in the future.

Good call on the TOB/spark plug replacement!

1/30/2019 | JDM muffler tips for stock exhaust

Earlier this week, I purchased some "stock 2015" exhaust tips I found on a FB sale ad. They were slightly damaged when I saw them in person, but was too good a deal to pass up! (The damage isn't noticeable either when installed, so I lucked out there.)
Installed them today in my school parking structure (lol). However when I showed my friend with a 2015 FRS, he told me that I actually had JDM tips. I was pleasantly surprised since I actually really wanted these, but wasn't looking to pay full price for a brand new set.
