Rear Seat Deletes
So I am thinking about making a rear seat delete for my FRS (when I get it, I'm like 10000th on the damn list lol). Anyways i want it to look a little like the Boss 302 L.S. package but with FRS/GT86 logo. If I make, would anybody else be interested in buying a rear seat delete "kit"? I will make a model of what I was thinking of later and post it. But for now, the basic idea.....

I have been thinking about removing mine as well, I will never have a passenger ride back there, I'm just not sure how to go about it yet.

I was thinking of carpeting or maybe a 14ga sheet of steel. I don't know yet I will have to measure and then model in solidworks (to see what weighs less and will be stiffer).

I want to take mine out but I think it will mess with SCCA classifications if I'm not mistaken. I know it would take you out of stock class but I think it would take you out of street classes to and into prepared classes.

I will have a look at options when I get the car, but part of the deal was to be able to transport a kid in the rear passenger side if need be so mine will probably stay or I will find a work around

I took the bottoms of the seats out and the seatbelts, and just keep the seats folded down so it's flat. Works for me since I never put anything in my trunk anyway

I have seen this before; but the one problem with this setup is that it does not add any body stiffness, which is the main reason I want to have a setup like the Boss 302. Also, its mega expensive and I'm pretty sure I could make a kit and sell it for under $250.

I was considering fabbing something up for storage. My 2nd gen RX7 had 2 lockable compartments behind the seats (I can't find a decent pic as a reference), and I was thinking of taking that route. Something that would extend flat out from the level of the trunk, that I could make a storage compartment...
