The only turbocharged RWD 2+2 for under 30k.

And the only RWD,front boxer engined coupe with 2+2
You seem to have quite the hard on for the genesis coupe... what are you doing here wasting time?

I don't like the idea of buying and driving a Korean car. That's sentiment from their past reputation; I would consider buying one now. That stigma's still there, though it's being lifted day by day.

I know right? I wish everyone would just see a car for what it is and not what logo is sitting on the front of it.

Matador, this is a comparison thread. Why would you tell him to go buy the Genesis and stop wasting time when all he's doing is playing Devil's advocate? How are you supposed to have a decent comparison thread without someone playing devil's advocate? You can't, it would just be a thread explaining why the FT86/FRS/BRZ is better than the GC.

I felt the same way until the GC was made. I was a bigger Hyundai hater than all of you guys combine. I still wouldn't buy the other Hyundai's they sell. But I feel the same way about Subaru and Scion as I would never buy any of them unless it's the BRZ/FRS. So all three brands was never on my radar before they made these cars. I pledge no allegiance to any brand like 95% of the guys on these forums. If a automaker makes a car that interest me that's all that matters to me not fanboyism.

Agreed. A great car is a great car. Not sure why all the hate. Should be happy there is a great car for a good price that undercuts its competitors. Isn't that a good thing?

We live in great times yet we all complain. Who would've thought Hyundai/Scion/Subaru of all companies would make a RWD sports coupe? Next thing KIA will make a RWD miata fighter and that might be the first KIA I genuinely will like. I want more RWD sporty vehicles on the market so I can't hate. I can only congratulate.

Its not a niche car, its a coupe version of their sedan for the masses with tweaks. The car has a notable price but its hardly without compromise.

It's a G35 coupe at a more affordable price point, to be honest.

Your right about the niche part but it is the only car(2.0T/RWD/Sport coupe) of its kind for sale under 35k.

By your logic the FR-S is a coupe version of the Impreza? Think about what you're saying.

The Genesis coupe only shares the suspension and shortened platform with the sedan and the V6 engine. It isn't a coupe of the sedan.

The FR-S shares the impreza suspension and shortened platform and the engine with some slight differences but they look nothing alike

And one more thing, every car has compromises. Some people are already talking about engine swap and F/I for the FRS/BRZ.

I didn't know the G35 was available with a 2.0T?

Cmon, you know you cant compare the two at that level. It is called a genesis coupe because if you just say genesis you are refering to the sedan it originated from, you have to give that up; its not its own sports car. The impreza/brz relationship is no where near as close. But keep on defending the GC like you owe it something.
