Loud ticking post recall fix

I have a 2013 FRS automatic about 75000 miles. This is post recall fix about 1200 miles or so. I am hearing a loud ticking ever since the recall. Sounds like a card in bike spoke. It is not there all the time and it increase in speed as the car accelerates. I have been working with dealer that did recall. But currently they are saying it's the high pressure pump and that it can't be fixed. But this noise was not the before recall fix, and it does not sound like videos I have seen online of a chripping high pressure pump. They have flushed the lines and state they did find and remove some sealant. I don't know what to do next.

Did they replace your serpentine belt? I had them replace the belt and spark plugs when the recall repair was done. After, I was having a noise like what you described. They said it was the fuel pump but I knew it wasn't the same sound the pump makes so I kept insisting and they offered to replace the fuel pump, after they replaced it the noise was still there, then they decided I had a bad clutch but they wanted me to pay this time, I told them the noise was there even when the clutch wasn't engaged so finally they had a "master tech" take a look to find that the new belt was defective, they replaced it and that fixed the problem.

Check that it isn't the vacuum pump issue on AT models. There was a post just yesterday about that issue.

Thanks everyone for the replies. This would be my 5th trip back as well. I will try to post a video tonight, but it's hard to capture on audio over my invidia exhaust. Yes they did replace my serpentine belt and plugs.i don't know if my garage has a master tech. Btw did you record the audio problem you had to compare. I will check the vacuum pump post.

Here is an example of the clicking noise. Like I said it's hard to pick up but I have reduced the hum of the exhaust in an attempt to make it easier to hear. I have also included an example without the clicking so you can hear and compare.

Ouch that does sound weird. I would get someone to rev it while sitting stationary and pop the hood see if you can pin point which side is louder and front or back of engine bay... Might help pin point problem.

Keep me posted. Same exact issue here. I figure if it doesn't blow up I will just trade it in some day. Sucks. Literally sounds identical post recall.

That doesn't sound good at all. TBH I had those same exact noises and they ended up finding sealant in my oil pickup and oil pan. This led to a spun rod bearing. Was a hell of a fight, took them 2 months to finally be put at fault by another dealership and also a Subaru of New England Rep. I'm having a new ticking noise that's a lot higher pitched and gets louder at higher RPM's. My ticking is very quiet at low RPM's and once I pass 3k RPM's it's more visibly noticeable.

Hard to tell, but it sounds a little bit like my issue.. the tech had adjusted the valves on my new engine too tight. Ask him where in the range he put them after the recall. Should be in the middle, and NOT to the tightest tolerances.

I know our engines sound like lawnmower engines sometimes, but that seems loud af. Hope it is eventually diagnosed and fixed, and don't eventually blame it on your exhaust and some excuse like decreased back-pressure was the root cause.
