Lol, Nice. I actually wanted to take the ac condenser off, just hadn't planned on unbolting it before the radiator. That freon get's you!

I've actually done that before on my friends BMW 318 when we were replacing his AC compressor after the system quit blowing cold air. We thought it had leaked all the refrigerant out and there wouldn't be any pressure left in the lines. We were wrong. As soon as we took off the bolt on the compressor line all hell broke loose and we had to high tail it out of the shop and have an adrenaline induced laugh while everything aired out. It scared both of us half to death when it fogged up the entire garage in a matter of seconds.

Got some 86 Atlanta members together yesterday for our first Tech Talk & lunch social at OLOBA Rennsport.

We upgraded @weepel 's BRZ with some new Project Mu pads, high temp fluid, master cylinder brace, and camber bolts for it's first track day coming up!

Looking forward to the next one!

The gasket that failed came from PLM with their OP.

Replaced it with the graphite gasket from JDL that came with the header. Hope it holds up better.

My fuel trims are probably jacked up now so I'll reflash my latest tune revision tomorrow and start over with some fresh logs.
Knew I saw your post about this somewhere. Have you had any issues with the JDL provided gasket? I'd rather not risk buying one of those eBay overpipes for it to be a rattly POS that breaks, so I'm thinking I'll swap gaskets for now and worry about getting a quality overpipe if I keep having issues.

I received a graphite gasket with my header that was too thin for my liking, so I doubled it up with an OEM gasket at the overpipe flange (after one of the gaskets supplied with my PLM OP failed) and it sealed. I should have installed the Grimmspeed gaskets the first time.

The TopSpeed and Isis OP's actually look pretty good. Avoiding contact with the frame has a lot to do with how you install it. If you tighten the bolts down while pushing up on the OP/FP you shouldn't have clearance issues.

I'm thinking I'll do the same for now since I have another new OEM (which is also rather thin) and the kinda cheesy feeling JDL gasket. I have a Grimmspeed set on order now, but they're moving shop and that may take a while. Thanksgiving road trip planned and I don't want to melt my plastic bits...

Good to know. TBH, I was less than impressed with the appearance of the welds on the sample pics, but I guess I'm just used to higher quality stuff instead of eBay stuff when I first started in car stuff, lol.

On another note... On one of my other forums someone sent me a link to a pic of your car on track and told me to get busy

My 86 Nanny arrived.

Quote:
The FRS/BRZ/GT86 86Nanny Controller is an electronic device that will automatically manage your traction & VSC system when your car starts. The kits are handmade by myself and every single unit is tested in my own car before it's shipped out.

The units are custom to the drivers preference. You can have it switchless to where it simply just disables the Trac/VSC when the car starts or you can have it switch controlled with any switch you would like. Switch controlled you can leave the switch in the off position to automatically disable everything, but you also have the option of flipping it to on so the car starts with the default everything on.

Very cool! Looking forward to installing it.

I can't believe you got that bulky switch. Chad would not approve.

Bulky? This is where I plan to install it...

The controller box will be tucked away under the trim.

Who's Chad?

I figured you had seen the back and forth between the creator of these and Chad on Southeast86. It was a somewhat enjoyable read with some .

My switch is above the cigarette lighter in the center console. Safety toggle that's been reversed so the safety cover is down with the Tc on.

I have a question!

Is your 86 number on the door vinyl or sticker? I'm tired of putting and taking off the number for each track day. haha
