Trips cost money.

It's within $100 of invoice +destination. I would take it, especially since they don't really go too low here on BRZs.

yup, but some of these places actually want to sell these cars, so you can save money even with the expenses of a trip.

If invoice is a grand less, all I'm saying is you'd have to make it a very low-budget trip to actually save any money in the literal sense. Airfare, hotels for a couple of nights, etc all get expensive quickly. And that's before you account for the value of your time. IDK about other people's out-of-state buying experiences, but depending on where you live and where the dealer is, you can end up spending a shitload of time at various DMVs sorting out paperwork nightmares.

Example: buying a car in Mass while living in Colorado, I must have gone to the CO DMV like three or four times (and each visit took several hours) just to get a temporary registration to Fedex to Mass so they could allow my car to leave the dealer's lot.

IDK. I just think it would be super easy to eat up any regional price advantage on other costs. A grand over invoice doesn't exactly seem like a price that justifies going to the ends of the earth-- it's not like when these cars were new and CA dealers were charging $30k for $25k MSRP cars...

It depends how much you are going to save. If it is far enough away you might need to book a hotel then if might not be enough. But Co to CA isn't that far and that dealer will pick you up at the airport too. It cannot hurt to make a phone call. Some of these dealerships are selling below invoice just because they want the numbers.
