Toyota 2AZ-FE Engine Swap

So I took out the box motor and put in a 2AZ FE motor with a custom turbo kit. The results were very good. I have instant torque and next to no boost lag.

Donor car? Engine MGMT? Tranny? Any plans to make the cluster work?

We need more details!

Like any of the dozen Toyota vehicles that had it. Now he has a RWD Scion TC. Cool, it’s different.

I feel like the Lexus 8AR-FTS would have been the swap to do. 86mm bore and stroke, d4s, turbocharged, all aluminum. Probably much harder to find and more expensive, but maybe not as expensive as a motor plus a custom turbo kit.

He's only $3k into the swap since 2AR's are dirt cheap. You'd need more than that to get a 8AR-FTS.

$3k isn’t bad for an engine, turbo kit, custom belhousing, clutch kit, engine management and materials/misc for fabrication and assembly. Chinese turbo? Im guessing cheaper than the twin scroll on the 2AR. It would be cool to see a parts list.

Updates.

Hey guys, for some reason I never got any notifications but I do have a hood fix and the car is equipped with full integration so it functions like it came from the dealer with this motor. I will post up a lot of details and a high quality promo video when the hood finally gets done. Its been taking a while dude to the availability of the person doing the body work on the hood. Thank you all for your patience.

So far the build list is as follows:
Custom trans adapter plate
ACT pressure plate
Stock clutch disc and flywheel
700cc DW injectors
Garret 60/63 custom 360 thrust bearing turbo
Megan Racing Strut Bar
Toyo Proxes 4+ tires 245-45-17
Grid Classic Wheels
Street Rays short shifter
Duel ECU solution with AEM engine management
Mtec Shift springs
Helper spring delete
Grimspeed BMC brace
Powerslot rotors
11psi (estimated 340whp) raw hp from base tune was 314. It's dialed in decent now.

Saw in the comments of one of your videos that you're working on a swap kit. Is that still something you plan to produce? Any clue on ETA/cost estimate?

Any pics of the adapter? Curious to see how it works with the stock trans, clutch fork and the 2AZ flywheel, etc.

So engine, turbo, manifold, engine management, custom trans adapter, etc was $3k? What about BOV, external wastegate, intercooler setup, etc? I’m still confused how this all came together so cheap.
