Couldn't agree more. The steering wheel is the least of my concerns.

But I like looking like a boy racer.

I personally don't care if it has all those gizmos and will never use most of them but I dislike the looks of the new86 enough that I will gladly buy the BRZ and not use the toys. I am sad that I would not be able to get orange though.

buttons and plastic bits....same car. I don't think it will generate any drastic changes in their sales numbers.

Too bad the other thing that they've couldn't get off the STI concept was the engine...

Well, thats good news, The front looks great.. here's to hoping somone just made a "mistake" on the Toyota refresh. The body lines look similar to the current version, in fact, the bumper s and lights look like they may be interchangeable.

I think the lights are slightly different shaped than current gen, if fact bigger than what it is now. The bumper will most likely be altered slightly to make way for the new headlights. So I kind of think it may not be interchangeable.

My thoughts:

1. I want that new headlight :O It looks like it has LEDs for turn signal now. But I don't want it if it means I lose my current DRLs. I have Diode Dynamic's AlwaysOn module so I love rolling around with DRLs and boomerangs on.
2. Liking the new bumper, might go with that if I ever need to replace my bumper, but again not if it means losing fogs/DRLs
3. Those tail lights are a nice improvement over current OEMs, but I still want TOMs over that.
4. I would actually welcome the steering wheel controls.
5. Fake CF? hell no.
6. I like the leather with red stitching on the dash piece, but hate that its no longer continuous with the stereo bezel.
7. The dash screen makes it more modern but at the same time looks a bit out of place.

Looks exactly the same to me. All the lines on the top half of the front bumper and around the headlights look identical. The headlights even look the same, they just swapped out the turn signal bulb for a strip of LEDs.

I'd go for a swap if my current headlights ever died. But wouldn't go for it otherwise since these OEM lights cost a grand.

Is it just me or is there an extra piece on the rear wing in the last photo? Like theres a small vertical piece below the side winglet.

You may very well be right. The curves around the lights maybe slightly different but that variation is in the bumper itself. It will be interesting to see, if ,the mounting points changed.

I read this and instantly thought well Subaru marketing has to do the same thing Toyota does and probably hears this through the grapevine from Toyota.

And then probably had the idea of lets tease pics of the cars being prepped for the NYIAS and if its received badly we can hold off and claim fakes but if its good then yeah, "let the bodies hit the floor" as they line up to give us there money for our face lifted BRZ.
