I know this was said a while back, but...

I think all the stupid assist and safety features should be off by default. That way when a "normal" driver gets in and has to flip everything on, he's reminded of how big a pu$$y he is!

For the shifting and braking techniques:

I've never had a clutch fail on any car I've ever owned, and I drive pretty aggressively, so I like to think that whatever I'm doing is probably pretty good. I also manage better than the EPA says I should for fuel economy, in spite of getting on it somewhat frequently - go figure.

What I do: It's entirely dependent on the situation. I generally try to use engine braking as much as possible by shifting into a lower gear and letting the engine drag my speed down, and then apply the brakes once I'm approaching where I'm actually going to stop.

I pretty much only use my brakes as a primary means to bring the vehicle to a stop in two situations: once second gear is at low revs and I'm very close to stopping, or when a traffic situation demands I slow down/stop faster than I can using engine braking. It makes for better gas mileage, it ensures that you're in the correct gear to quickly accelerate once traffic clears, and it saves on brake pads.

No matter whether it is a coupe or lift-back, if the rear window is like that in concept form, please have a rear wiper. We all know how snow could accumulate on that whether you use defroster or not....

Rear wiper would be cool. I always wanted to install the JDM rear wiper on my car. Even with a pretty steeply raked rear window a lot of crap gets on there.

And I always engine brake my car. It's just more fun Normally I downshift until I'm at about 10mph in 2nd and then shift into neutral (obviously I use the brakes too as needed). If I'm in heavy traffic I just use 1st gear and don't use the break at all unless I come to a complete stop. Usually you can get by without having to stop by leaving a ton of space to the car in front of you. Just watch the truckers, they all do it. Still on original clutch at 120,000 miles (and only had to change the break pads twice, 2nd time was just a few months ago)

Mixed feelings on the rear window wiper, I think it'd look alot cleaner without one and since I've never had one, I don't think I'll miss it...

Looks retarded and most coupes do fine without one.

Definitely rear wiper. Sticky snow coming down in buckets can be a real problem where I am. It's nice to sweep it off after being stuck at a red light for a few minutes. My other requirements are LSD, defeatable nannies (but ABS is nice for DD), bluetooth stereo connection (or just a regular single din FM radio that I can replace with my current Sony), AC and a retracting sunroof. Also mud flaps.
