First Oil Change, Fumoto Oil Drain Valve

I'm interested in installing a Fumoto oil drain valve to make future oil changes that much easier. There is conflicting info online about the correct valve to use and I'm afraid I might order the wrong one. My 2017 86 is an automatic with the 200hp engine. The Fumoto site says the 2017 takes the f103 valve (m12-1.25) but it also says the earlier FRS takes the f108 valve (m16-1.5).

Does anyone know which size would be correct for my engine?

How are you getting information that the F103 fits?
http://www.fumotousa.com/results.php...id=BRZ+2.0L+H4

The F103 is not returned in the result set when I input a 2017 BRZ.

Cliff notes: F108 is what you want.

Yes, you are right about the BRZ, but for a 2017 86 it does return f103 so I'm still confused.

I got the 108. Don't lose the plastic drain tube fitting that snaps on the end.
It comes with a fiber washer rather than a crush washer.
I put gasket sealer on both sides of it and didn't over torque the install.

Still working as designed. Due for another change shortly.
Being able to drain directly into empty jugs is so much nicer than messing with catch pans.

I just put on the F108SX: New Generation Valve a couple of weeks ago. It's a new design where you can rotate the valve exactly where you want to drain the oil from.

Hello @ tobin! I see you put the newer Fumoto F108SX on your BRZ a couple years ago. Just curious as to how that is working out for you.

I have a 2017 Series.Yellow that I have no plans on changing ride height on. Mainly keeping it factory stock and enjoying it just the same. So not super worried about scraping the underside, but thought I'd see what your thoughts are on the F108SX.

Thanks...

I've been very happy with it, and added one to my '06 Outback as well. It's a great product...just get one!

Sorry for necroing this 1 year old thread but did not want to create a new thread for the same discussion. This new F108sx, it almost looks like this has the same profile as the nipple less older model but with the benefits of having a nipple that's 90 degrees rather than straight down. Anyone compare the 2 and able to confirm the new SX valves have similar clearance as the old F108 w/o nipples?
