Unplug and then plug it back in. It may take a few attempts to get it to boot up correctly once it gets in this state.

Which begs the next question -

What makes it get in this state ?

I connected my OBII through OBII extender then connected OFT.
i disconnected extender and directly connected my OFT and it worked!

it used to work fine somehow it stopped working? so i thought somehow i fried extender while connecting OFT

so i connected my extender to other vehicle, Camry and tested with my bluetooth torque and it worked fine.. so extender is working..SO WEIRD

what causing my extender doesnt work anymore in BRZ?

I believe if the connections aren't 100% plugged in, you will get the white screen. It happened to be last week and then I realized the connection with the OBD2 port was a bit loose.

So the OFT will not boot up if its not fully plugged in, makes sense.

What does not make sense is why it will continually not boot when it "gets in this state".

Does an improper or loose connection traumatize the tablets brain ?

What causes it to get into "this state" ? Why "several attempts" ?

I probably am another victim of "loose OBII port" or my extender got fucked up by always plugged in.

It goes into this state when the OFT does not get enough power from my understanding. (poor connection) I have had it happen twice now, both when repositioning the oft to another location. Took a few tries to get it going again but is fine once it comes back.

This has happened to me a few times also. Most of the times after I did an update.
Just disconnect en reconnect again and it should work.

I think if you disconnect it while the car is running you might get a traction control and abs light show up.

I have yet to have any issue plugging and unplugging with the car on or off. Recently I switched over to run the extension cable with toggle switch, flip it on once I'm out of the garage and no CEL's or lights that have popped up
