Way too loud. Best fix for minimal impact?

So i finally have the car all setup with JDL headers, over pipe, front pipe and a Perrin 3" resonated exhaust. And holy shit is this thing LOUD. Embarrassingly loud over 3k RPM's. So now i need to figure out the best way to tame this thing while minimizing losses. I'm thinking the stock catback system might be the way to go here. Anyone else gone through the same issue?

I have this setup, perhaps it might add context. I too have the same too loud issue:

Innovate Supercharger
FA20Club Catted Header
Perrin Overpipe 2.5"
FA20Club Front Pipe
Flowmaster Cat-Back 2.5"

With the setup above and the stock cat back it was a little aggressive on a cold start but otherwise sounded stock all around. Once I put my cat-back on with the combination of everything else, it got too loud and raspy. The stock cat-back is going to choke off some power but is very quiet compared to my cat-back. I don't want to risk buying another cat-back and having the same issue. So I think I'm going back to the stock cat-back.

Yea i mean i'm literally sitting here with my ears ringing from a half-hour drive. It's like the BRZ Tinnitus edition now.

I would have suggested going to the stock catback, but the 3" might be a problem.

Either ditch the 3" or get a turbo. No real need to have 1 without the other.

I have a feeling its the 3" catback also.. is your front pipe catted or resonated? a hfc will reduce the noise some but I think the main source is still the perrin 3" cbe.

Perrin's data suggested otherwise. But yea, it comes as the expense of noise.

Catted and resonated frontpipe should help but the real problem is the 3" catback

I was thinking about this same setup, but if it's really that loud I'm gonna have to reconsider. I had no idea a 3" would be that much louder than a 2.5"!

Why not Invidia Q300 or Greddy SP for the muffler? Perrin's exhaust is a bit on the louder side, especially compared to Q300 and SP, no? Or you just want to stick to 3" exhaust..

at least in 2.5" form, the Perrin is considered one of the quietest exhausts. I will observe at the Perrin meet tomorrow to see whose exhaust is the least obnoxious.
