Eneos 0w20
I don't usually write reviews as I'm way to lazy haha. I just switched out my oil at around 1400 miles or so. While driving here in Hawaii I've been struggling to keep 28.7 MPG avg and there seems to be a power loss in 6th gear while traveling uphill on the highway.
I spent a while looking and trying to decide which oil I was going to use for the first oil change. I usually go with Mobil 1, but I've was reading a lot of issues with Mobile 1 and boxer engines so I looked elsewhere and found this Japanese oil that is cheaper then most of the other options and seems to perform better. I'm not an oil person but from what I was reading this oil is a very basic synthetic oil with no extras but it seems to work really well, so I decided to give it a try. Didn't hurt that it was cheaper too haha. http://www.eneos.us/product/1 All I have to say is from the moment I first turned it on the engine was so much quieter and it seems to accelerate smoother. My first long drive today around Hawaii and I easily hit 29 MPG avg and I didn't feel that power loss in 6 gear while going up H3. Maybe this is how it is with other oils as well and if it is then I suggest doing an oil change ASAP haha. |

I'm going with Eneos motor oil myself when I change my oil.
Napa auto parts? carries them nationwide and it's $8.49 or less a quart. |

Yup, picked up 2 gallons at Napa for around $58 bucks. It seems to have gone up in Hawaii or maybe I got it on sale or something. They also had a 10% discount for using their online pickup thing last week.

ENEOS is good stuff. Very popular in the land of Japan.

Definitely can't go wrong with Nippon ENEOS, I know that it is the factory 0W-20 for Toyota engines, not 100% sure for a Subaru made engines though.
I did some looking and it appears that Idemitsu is the factory supplier for Subaru, and my dealership had that oil in stock so I ended up going with that (still high quality, easier to get, same price as ENEOS). I may try ENEOS next time...I don't think you can go wrong either way though. |

For the sake of not making a new thread...
I ordered 6 quarts of Eneos instead of Eneos Sustina under the impression the Sustina was for hybrid motors as mentioned on ft86speedfactory.com. Should I still go ahead and use the regular old Eneos 0W20. On the plus, it IS fully synthetic (or is it?) and a legitimate ILSAC GF-4. Strangely enough I don't see "Made in Japan" written anywhere on the bottles.
