+1 for formula friction.

Forgot to mention - I'm running PB GT series disks. No problems.

I used Endless PB05 fronts with Bendix (or stock) rears and Powerbrake disks with Endless S-Four brake fluid and they performed brilliantly.

I would have liked to match my fronts and rears as I was smearing my pads, possibly due to brake balance issues (? - Mike reckons that you should match fronts and rears). But PB doesn't bring in MX75/PB05 rear pads.

So its a difficult call as to where I would have gone. PB's products are all top quality and they are very knowledgeable, but the pad matching issue was a pain, and its very difficult to source hi performance rear pads for a Standard spec 86.

I was tempted to try Yellows front and back for a while as an experiment but never got there.

Sorry about the waffle, but I also need some caffeine.

I've had yellow stuff in the Forester since the day I got it and they've been taking a hammering. Track day, offroad, klapping GTi's, etc - no issues at all but they are massive pads in 8 pot calipers which I'm assuming helps with heat, etc.

I was also keen on trying them in the 86 front & rear matched but they didn't have stock of the fronts. Vari mentioned that they've had problems when not matched.

Could it also be the brake disc that you match the yellow stuff pads to ?

I searched on this forum, and allot of guys internationally complained that the Yellow Stuff pads are crap and posted pics of them badly cooked after a track day...

But the few that had positive comments on the yellow stuff pads , matched it with EBC discs.

Could the compounds of Disc Vs Pad play a significant role with the EBC yellow stuff pads?

Could be I guess or maybe the disks were smeared with stock compound. Would be interesting to see how they perform with brand new stock discs.

Here is a reply I got from FormulaFriction when I mentioned that the EBC yellow stuff pads getting cooked after one track day.

"The EBC yellow stuff has got about a 950 degree heat rating! If you want to you can double check it on the EBC website (www.ebcbrakes.com)! I definitely do think the yellow stuff with the heat treated and slotted discs will work but I would suggest doing the same all round as you will get the ultimate performance from the braking system! The nice thing is the yellow stuff is a half track half street pad!"

I don't have any first hand experience on track with EBC Yellow stuff but my dad had on his WRX and they were great on road (since that the only place I drove his car).
Must of SOCSA here in the WC have been using EBC Yellow's on track with no issues - Pyro recommends and fits them to most cars.

I have also fitted them to two other GT86 owners cars and I have had good feedback.

Only complaint I have is that they make a fair amount of brake dust, but not too bothered about that.

An update on Yellows:
My brother runs them on his S2000, after Sunday at Z his pads have disintegrated. Sunday was his 4th track day on the set.

So, I'm not sold on Yellows for track use.
