XXR 527 17x8.25 +35(front) 17x8.25 +25(rear) and 1 inch drop
Hey guys, I know there's a thread on these wheels already but I wanted to know if my proposed fitments would still be legal here in Victoria. I really like these wheels for the price, look and width. If i had the money, I'd be buying volk g25's.. As this will be my first time buying after market wheels, I want to get it right the first time and I am after a flush set up. Based on DarrenDrive's measurements, an 8 inch wide front wheel with +36 offset will be flush and an 8 inch wide rear wheel with +26 offset will also be flush on a 1 inch drop. So my proposed set up will stick out past the guards a tiny bit.. Is this still legal? Any thoughts on this guys? Should I lower a bit more? Camber? Someone educate me thanks in advanced

The most legal I could do in nsw was 19x9inch rims with lower profile tyres and no stretch..
And lowering it more is a nightmare a fellow cruiser here lowered his and everyone witnessed his epic under scratches on bumpy roads at least once through the drive.. anything more than an inch I believe isnt so wise on the 86 If it doesn't noticeably stick out by too much then should be fine, mine dont stick out much, maybe a quarter of my pinky nail tbh...

thinking of going 225, 45, 17 for tyres on 17x8.25, so theres just a little bit of stretch correct? my proposed set up will stick out 7.6mm past the guards after an inch drop, will I still get done for that? |

I have a feeling that's not how it works. As a 235 tyre fits on an 8.5" (212.5mm) rim with minimal stretch. If so you would tell me that the stock 215 tyres on the gts spec are at 8.5" with no stretch. The rim is actually 7" wide.

a 235 isn't not stretched on an 8.5 in rim at all?!?! a 205 is flush on an 8in rim, and that's from me seeing it first hand.... I am not talking about what a rim/tyre dude would "recommend" i am talking about maths.
