If you're on a stock exhaust the cabin noise is minimal. Can't tell the difference much from stock.

The front pipe back is where all the noise comes from. At least for me. My exhaust is always the loud part. The header by itself wasn't bad.

I'm thinking about purchasing a Gruppe-S UEL header after reading so many good things about it and can't go wrong with the quality and price, but had a question about the heat shield and if I should get it with the header or not. If anyone can give me some advice on if I should get the heat shield or not it would be greatly appreciated.

I have been trying to find a leak in mine and when I was underneath the car That heat shield(The one you tape on the oil pan) was pretty warm. So Im thinking it helps keep some heat out of the oil.

And about my leak, If you get the overpipe the gaskets I got Where The paper type with fire rings on the inside. Im thinking I have a leak in one of those connections. I ordered some grimspeed gaskets to replace those and will use some copper exhaust sealant this time... Im just hoping the leak isn't at the head.

Hope that helps

I fitted mine up a few weeks ago. Great quality, and very fast shipping.

The install was very smooth, and the sound is great! Very happy with the product.

So im hearing an air compressor noise at cold start until the car warms up and under load(above half throttle) all the time anyone else with an exhaust leak does this sound familiar to you?

If the leak was at the head would it sound more like a tick because exhaust pulse?

This is a constant pshhh noise.

I have tried re tightening all the bolts a couple times

it's air passing through pipes. if you worry, you actually need to feel with hand or do paper test near flange for leak.

lift your car, and put a paper near flange that header meets for leak.
if there is a leak, paper will dance like a bitch. if no leak, then nothing happens. lol or you can just put your hands near to feel air. (do cold start or you'll burn your hand)

I have it. I have checked my oil temps via OBDII and they have always been around the optimal levels. I don't know if the heatshield matters, but with it "installed" my oil temps are right where they should be. I think it's 213~ degrees? Maybe 220, but whatever the temp it was the temp I read it should be at, haha.

I've had the header for a year or more now and I have no issues and still enjoy it. I'll be keeping it when I turbo the brz.

more than likely, if you turbo the car you'll have to use a different header.

Allegedly I don't. I can keep my headers with the kit I found. Can't wait. Should have it within 1-2 months.
