Here you go!...sorry for the delay.
I didn't disconnect the battery...because I didn't want to lose all my radio presets and phone connection etc...not sure I would have lost them but didn't want to take the chance...make that decision at your own risk.

I was going to do this but... That wire being exposed looks really "unfinished." Is this the final result or is there another cover?

Thanks

hahaha...unfinished? Every mirror like this out there has that wire...keep in mind how close I was when I took this shot. You can barely notice it otherwise.
It needs to be a little loose though..so you can adjust the mirror.
I could probably pull a bit of it in now that I'm adjusted and all set.

Yeah, the factory ones I've experienced (like VW, Audi) have the wires buried under plastic covers. I thought since this was a port installed option it would look completely factory installed. It's not a huge deal but definitely looks like an afterthought.

I did this to my Mazda3 and I had to run wires down the A pillars and I also had to find wires to tap into. This one is sooooo much easier!

I'd like to see if anyone that had theirs port installed looks any different...but really it looks fine to me and I'm about as fussy as they come.

Just installed my AutoDim with Homelink but failed at syncing up my garage door opener..

I held down buttons 1 and 3 for 20 seconds. Then pressed and held the garage door opener remote with buttons 1 and no luck..

Any insight?

I thought you were supposed to hit the button on the actual garage opener when synchronizing the homelink unit? Same way as when you are programming a new remote. Should be a button under the cover or on the back of your opener unit.

Most other cars with powered RVMs have the wiring in some kind of tubing/cover, flexloom, etc.

I intend to add this to my car when/if it ever arrives. I'll probably use heatshrink tubing on the wires.

I've installed mine a while back; but lately I've been hearing rattling noises from the mirror, so I took it off...
It appears that the aluminum piece (Screw Plate) that slides under the "U" clip is stripped?
I can't tighten the two screws into the screw plate tightly...it just free-spins no matter how many times I turn it.

I may have to order another one; but I forgot if this Screw Plate comes in the "adapter" package or if it comes with the mirror.
(Is there a part number JUST for that plate or do I have to order in the whole package?)

Does anyone have a picture of theirs so I can compare?

The piece is letter "I" (Screw Plate) in the diagram.

Thanks in advance!

Anyone know how to actually sync the homelink with the garage door opener? Just got my BRZ with the homelink mirror and I have no clue how to sync it. Looked in all of my BRZ documentation and it doesn't even mention anything about the homelink mirror :/
