Hey, I've send the idea in admin/mod section... but no one really agreed nor disagreed.

I'll just leave this here....pivot tables are your friend. If you don't know how to use them, it's time to learn. After that, everything becomes a pivot table.

I never really provided any detail, just a couple of photos.

It's one pretty much no one that knows planes has ever heard of, and the longest name possible.

AMD Alarus CH2000.

It's a small, two seater that is used primarily in the training market.
The one I bought is low-time, fully IFR equipped (plan to use it to get my IFR and maybe my CFI).

The things I liked...
  • It wasn't a project. Any other plane I found in the price range was going to require a lot of work.
  • Other than having steam gauges rather than a glass cockpit, it is fully up to date with a decent radio stack/GPS and ADS-B.
  • It burns 5GPH at 115MPH, so its slow, but good enough for what I do.
  • It was designed by Chris Heintz, the same guy that designed several kit planes I'm familiar with. Even though its FAA certified, its a simple easy to maintain plane.
  • It's wider than most small planes, which makes it comfortable to fly two-up.
  • You can fly it with full fuel and two passengers, even when they don't weigh the standard 170lbs each.
  • It's technically a warplane since its used by the Iraqi and Peruvian military as scout and FLIR aircraft.

What could be better...
  • Did I mention it is a little slow?
  • It's light so it can get blown around a bit, but it has a demonstrated crosswind of 25knots, which is amazing.
  • It doesn't have much of a baggage compartment, really just a shelf
  • You need Hulk Fingers to operate the trim wheel on it.
  • There were only a couple hundred built so service is a learning process.

Have only been able to fly it for about an hour as part of an insurance checkout. Waiting for my flight instructor (who flies C130s as his day job) to get back into town next week to finish up.

No, trust me. Pivot tables and vlookups are hugely useful. The issue I was having was just defining the tasks itself. I had a meeting with two other guys on the project and I think I get what they're looking for and some of my flailing appears to have been correct.

I appreciate the concern, but I can make a beautiful spreadsheet.

I've created at least 5 new spreadsheets trying to make sense of this stuff and haven't really gotten anywhere. I'm glad I can finally fill a day with something, but I hate this new direction because it just doesn't seem worth it.

Sometimes bosses have you do things that clearly will have no benefit because they have to do things that clearly will have no benefit and have better things to do with their time.

Also, sometimes they give things as training exercises that in and of themselves are pointless, but build a skill that will later be used for something meaningful. One of the greatest skills you can have is taking a pile of meaningless crap and find a way it can make your boss look like a genius.

Sometimes they are just clueless morons that we assume must be smarter than we think they are or why else would they be the boss?.. hmm

This isn't so much an argument as a wondering of why bother drinking American light lagers when they're so flavorless?
What don’t you like about IPAs?

The bitterness. They're unbalanced. They were designed to keep for a long time, not to taste good. I like the hops, and I've had a hazy IPA or two that was alright, but mainly they just overwhelm with bitterness. In contrast, a good imperial stout uses all kinds of other flavors to overwhelm the bitterness, like how sugar outdoes bitterness in chocolate.
