I think you guys need to define what you mean by handling. Do you mean steering feel and drivers feedback? As far as the numbers go, stock for stock, there is not really a comparison in terms of lateral acceleration and figure 8 numbers. The STI is clearly on another level.

Yep agree.

FR-S (stock Primacy, touring tires)
0.93 g
25.9 figure 8

2015 STI (stock Maxx RT, max performance tires)
0.97 g
24.9 figure 8

Though I'd say on equal tires, they'd be very comparable.

FR-S (ZII-SS, extreme performance tires)
1.01 g
25.0 figure 8

I would guess on equal tires they'd tie on lateral grip, and the STI would still be faster in the figure 8, but due to power, not handling.

Actually it's 17 city & 24 highway.
19 combined.

I'm staring at the sticker right now on an M4. Same engine and drivetrain, slight difference in weight but not enough to equal a 8mpg difference.

you are correct. the actual mileage and the economies have now been official.

figures before were pure speculation from journalists.

I test drove a 2015 WRX and Blue Series BRZ, while the BRZ feels like a sports vehicle and is actually cool looking, the WRX is by far superior.
Where I live we have snow and I'm looking for a reliable fun car to drive all year long. WRX surprised me with how safe and fun to drive it was.
We were going up the Highway 50 to Lake Tahoe from Carson and the WRX was easily taking that hill at 90 MPH, Speed limit was 50 lol. My Prius and my Dad's 08 Impreza has hard time going up that hill at 70, it's crazy how awesome the WRX is.
BRZ we drove around the back street and it just doesn't feel as safe and the rear just wants to spin out, which is a fun factor of the car though. It's unfortunate, the all wheel drive makes a huge difference at driving. I can see WRX owners getting more tickets than the BRZ owners.

Another thing, we test drove WRX automatic w/paddle shifters, and omg, that is so much fun, like in the video game.
BRZ was full manual, unless you are turning a lot during your commute, the car is not fun.

Sounds like you're looking for a car for the snow, and that pulls hard. The BRZ/FRS is not the car for you.

I was hoping it would be, but you are right it isn't.
Unfortunate as it is. May be, one day, I'll buy the BRZ as well, but really the WRX has almost everything BRZ does and more. The main downsides are that it doesn't look as cool and it's not easy to drift. Handling wise, I think WRX is a winner though, but steering wheel control is definitely better on BRZ.

First of all, to pick between RWD to AWD is just wrong. Nothing beat AWD in a Snowy winter. Subaru symmetrical is the best doing it

well guys ill be coming home sometimes next month finally. got some $ saved and some serious thinking too do. thanks to this deployment i paid of my $24k loan in 2.5 years. I've been doing a lot of research on this forum and on the NASIOC, IWSTI forums lately. I'm not gonna jump on anything anytime soon until spring of 2015. Hopefully the BRZ gets some power upgrade. The STi is just killing it though.
