I got a dry carbon roof since it'll be easier to weld the cage in with the roof out.

Any idea what the stock bonnet weighs?

That's probably the biggest weight to be saved on the front end. Will certainly help offset the additional weight for the 2j.

Unfortunately this is the roof. I've been trying to shave as much as weight without having the move the radiator to the rear. So far, the front bash bar as shaved some weight, relocating the battery and dropping the 2jz as low and far back by using dry sump. The stock aluminum hood is really light and my seibon hood was probably the same weight, if not heavier.

However, compared to stock roof, you shave 10lbs from the highest point of the car.

Goddang, this thread is just amazing! Keep up the parts porn!

Random question: Any particular reason you're running the non-VVTi 12-tooth trigger wheel vs the standard VVTi 36-2 trigger wheel?

Ah, I must have forgotten to edit that. Originally I had intended to do a non VVTI engine so that's why I had the reinforced non VVTI timing wheel. That's also a reason why I can't use my Hypertune valve cover

Gotcha. I'm planning on doing a similar swap "soon-ish" as well, so I'll just live vicariously through your thread for the time being!

Hope to see more from your build! It's always interesting seeing everyone's perspective when they build things.
