Lowering my car
I'm looking to buy some lowering springs for the sake of fixing that god awful stock ride height. Right now I'm looking at the Hotchkis springs but I'm wondering if 1" will really make a difference appearance-wise.
Anyone have pictures of a FRS/BRZ lowered by 1"? 1.5"? What's the max I could lower my car without compromising performance too much? |

This is my car lowered 25mm. I think it's the perfect drop. I've since raised my car 5mm to get more suspension travel.

Yes, 1" makes all the difference in looks. I have eibach pro kit that are listed @ 7/8 ".
I wouldn't go lower on stock struts, it will decrease performance. Cole linked some good info. |

What would be some good struts to go with the springs then (for a good price, of course)?

I did read a lot of threads before posting this, but I couldn't get a general consensus on what height is the best, especially getting into the 35mm range. The problem is a lot of people post about springs with the idea of going to a track, but my BRZ is my daily.

Struts are 150-230 each for koni or bills. I want the B8 bills. They are for lowered cars.
The general consensus, is going lower than 1" is bad for stock struts and performance. There is no difference how a car handles on the street or track. I like to have max performance for when: someone pulls out in front of me and I have to swerve. Or for deer, I live very rural. Last edited by Leonardo; 06-21-2016 at 06:36 PM. |

This was when I was on Mann Engineering BRZ lowering springs. There's more pictures in that Flickr album.

Lowering my car
Stock suspension can't take low stuff too well. I mean they will do fine since million ppl are doing it but just keep in mind that it will fail earlier & keep an eye on it if you are lowered. :3 (especially more then 1")
Btw I love ur profile picture. PS: RCE springs are really good if you don't need to be very low. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks everyone for the replies. I've decided to go with the Hotchkis springs since they are similar to the Eibach ones and are also $30 cheaper. After reading some more about it and seeing more pictures 1" seems low enough for me.
