Intake tube, intake manifold, cams, valves, headers, and programming is different.
I doubt that the intake manifold change will make a significant difference.

My aftermarket parts/upgrades have done the same, if not more so....

I was under the impression the one in my car is plastic and the new one is not, is that not the case?

Thank you, didn't expect any sort of gain from it. The reason above is why I was interested.

The new red one is aluminum and it's taller. According to the PDF it seems like it's a synergy of changes to the engine components that merits the new design.

I tried Googling plastic vs. aluminum intake runners and there seems to be a debate about this especially with the Corvette forums.

Thanks that's what I thought. I'd just prefer aluminum over plastic but if it requires that many changes clearly not worth the effort.

I mean. girded cylinder head, shot peened gears, and stitch welded shock towers seems like pretty sick stuff to me. maybe im just a gearhead.

Yeah, a header and tune will probably allow your present car to outperform the 17 but toyobaru changed myriad things albeit in small increments. I'm more intrigued by the reliability mods. What issues were they addressing? We'll probably know in a yr or two. Lol
