Just though I'd make a thread for all new owners that, like me, are looking for simple buys, or "must-have", as I like to call them, to start modding their new baby. Really though, half the stuff I don't need. Especially the front license plate. It's not required in Alabama. Am I the only one that doesn't mind the original side markers? I don't even notice them on my car.

I'd say main thing for me, is weathertech floor mats. It's raining a lot here and I walk through grass at school. It'd just make things simpler.

The only upgrades I have definitely planned for mine at the moment are:

1. A real oil pressure sensor and oil pressure gauge to replace/augment the on/off switch and idiot light. It still boggles my mind that they didn't make this car with a real oil pressure sensor. I'll probably use the P3Cars vent gauge to keep the install clean. (http://www.p3cars.com/subaru-brz-sci...tal-interface/)

2. Padded console panels (http://japanese-culture.ocnk.net/product/1103) - My right knee usually ends up resting in an awkward place on the highway, and it could be a bit more comfortable.

3. The Toyota armrest.

4. A set of wider rims and tires. And I freely admit that I really want these for looks more than anything else. The way the stock rims sit inside the rear fenderwells makes the car look from certain angles like it has a fat ass, and that's not appropriate.

Boring, I know, but I'm using this car mostly for business travel (in style) and don't need it to be a track star at the moment. Besides, I have another project vehicle that is sucking my wallet dry at the moment.

No, you're not. I actually prefer the stock look for lights and lenses.

I concur.. Plus adding those clear lens will cause your car to be not road legal..

But I am traveling to Asia in the summer, and if I happen to go to a Subaru or Toyota dealer/parts store and I happen to see a correctly oriented OEM armrest in stock, I might talk myself into the splurge.

I keep hearing about condensation in these clears. I'm fine with orange side-markers, plus I'm not 100% sure of the legality of these in Georgia.

Yeah, I have a BRZ, but if I had an FRS, I'd get this. Looks terrible with wires exposed, like the part is missing. I looked at a used FRS before buying the BRZ, and initially thought that the dealership or original owner must have damaged/lost the liner.

So glad that Georgia doesn't do front license plates. But if it did, I would either take the chance (lived in California without a front license plate for 7 years), or would keep it centered. Not a fan of the off-center, even less flush, license plate mount.

Definitely on the Weathertech if I lived in snow country, but I don't and I'm always parking in a garage or at least paved surface. The good thing about the cheap Subaru mats are they are cheaply replaced when they prematurely wear out.

I like the carbon fiber BRZ keychain my wife bought me off of Amazon.

I don't need winter shoes in Atlanta.

Definite on the hand washing stuff.

Could go either way at this time on the clear bra. On the one hand, the easily chipped and easily scratched Subaru paint drives me crazy, but on the other hand, the car still looks great and there's something kind of great about the full detailing experience on my car.

If I had a more expensive car, maybe I'd lean more towards an opti coat or something. For now, I'll try to take care of the paint imperfections the best I can (even if they are not perfect) and keep it sealed/waxed to help protect the paint. I plan to put on Opti Seal later when it warms up and I get the time to fully clay, compound, and polish the existing surface scratches (most on the car when I bought it, but apparent only after the first hand wash).

I've got the BRZ trunk liner, and very happy with it. Great protection recently for a bunch of plants and a bag of mulch from home depot.

Kinda like the new Beatsonic Sharkfin, but sticking with the antenna for now. May consider a 4" shorty. I'd probably go for some kind of lower profile antenna alternative (maybe a flatter rectangle shape?) in the future if I won't lose reception.

No heal-toe downshifting in my AT.

I had the dealer throw in the wheel locks. Seemed like a good idea.

BTW, I kinda like the OEM wheels. But I've never bought after market wheels before, and these are the nicest I've ever had.

Mentioned above that I don't mind them. But I'm an Auburn man, so I kinda like the Orange-and-Blue look on my WRB BRZ.
