Anyone else have trouble with OEM stereo + usb drive?
So I'm having some issues with my stock stereo (it's the 2013 base model stereo) and using a USB drive for input. About 85% of the songs on the flash drive work, but the others either play back at a SUPER slow speed (like, 1/10th normal speed) or way too fast. While this is sort of funny to listen to occasionally, it is also a huge pain in the ass when I want to hear those songs.
I have tried re-loading the same exact files onto the drive (as duplicates) and the dupes work fine. I have tried changing file names and folder names too. There does not seem to be any pattern to which ones are messed up Do I need to be trying to get my stereo replaced under warranty? Also, in only semi-related news, does anyone else have to yell at the damn ceiling to get any kind of quality out of the bluetooth calling feature? >.< OK, thanks in advance! |

They seem to be fussy about the doodad, and also play in the order copied to the doodad. DriveSort lets you orderm them how you want and may fix the speed issue.

Fussy about the doodad...
That's what I'm gonna tell the unit manager at work next time they ask why I can't pinpoint the problem in some enormous piece of equipment |

Using USB drives, it ONLY recognizes .wmv files.
I've got all my CDs converted to .ogg on my linux box. No joy. I just plug my Sanza Fuze+ into the AUX. Could be even how the .wmv files were recorded. Lots of various options about how they're done. May have to wind up re-ripping all the files that are misbehaving. The head unit only works with iPhones with a specific release range. Android? fegedaboudit. What a useless unit. Glad I didn't pay even more for crap.

Only does them and upchucks anything else. Review your recording parameters.

Forgot the key. Tomorrow. Plain vanilla 196 CBR, normal encoding. Since you are using Linux to rip (assuming), I'll be willing to bet 10 whole cents that there are illegal characters in your file names (or, IIRC, metadata as well) that the stock Pioneer chokes on. Plain old directories, sub-directories and files for me.

All my music files are formatted as .ogg, so never going to work at all. Not worried about it.
I'll likely replace the head unit someday with a more rational device. Someone else was having playback speed problems with .mp3 files that should have worked. Only suggesting probable causes. I spaced on which format (singular) the stock decks work with. Sorry for any offense.

My OEM head unit works like a charm with my android/bluetooth, it even picks up where I left off in the song/playlist. |
