Subaru BRZ S - Subaru Australia releases details of S variant.
From Caradvice:
The sports-themed Subaru BRZ S and a limited edition Subaru WRX have been confirmed to join the brand’s local line-up following the Subaru Performance Car exhibition that kicks off later this week. The Subaru BRZ S is an accessories package similar to the STI Sports Kit concept that debuted at last year’s Sydney motor show (pictured). Available to purchase online from mid-June, the BRZ S features 17-inch black STI alloy wheels, a boot lip spoiler and unique front, side and rear skirts, while a flexible tower bar and a coil spring set promise enhanced dynamic performance. Subaru Australia will also beef up the BRZ’s options and accessories list around the same time, introducing for the first time satellite navigation, rear-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, STI exhaust, STI oil cap and valve cap set, carbonfibre instrument panel insert, and a number of other items. Full specifications and pricing details of the BRZ S and individual accessories will be revealed in the coming weeks. Subaru Australia national corporate affairs manager David Rowley told CarAdvice the brand was continuing to work with head office in Japan on lead times for the BRZ, which have improved to approximately two to three months. Personally I love the wheels and the front lip but think the spoiler does just that. A mild but pleasant taste of what's to come! Last edited by crouchy35; 05-27-2013 at 01:03 AM. |

When someone that buys one decides to change wheels, I'll buy those off you. Those wheels look slick. The rest is meh.

Also, much prefer the standard spoiler Subaru already offer over this bootlip one. Makes it look more like a 350Z. |

I wonder why they didn't just include the oem spoiler with the gurney flap. I personally wouldn't want that STI spoiler on my car.
Sad to see no BBK upgrade and also from the picture i see no rear splat.

It doesn't seem to really offer any performance upgrades but will probably be priced quite high. Don't think it's worth it but the 2 months wait is great news. Wish my GTS delivery could be that quick
I get the feeling this is a precursor to an STi model coming out next year. Test the waters with the S model. |

I have the STI pink springs in my 86 - they're definitely worth doing. Don't mind the wheels either, other than that......

It doesn't appear to be "coilovers"... jsut the STI springs on what appear to be standard struts.
It also says the STI exhaust is an option, not included. I prefer that spoiler to the standard BRZ spoiler, but not a huge fan of the black skirts. |

Everything I can see has been available for a while.
'satellite navigation, rear-view camera, front and rear parking sensors' have been available since launch. The 'carbonfibre instrument panel insert' showed up a few months later. Apart from that it just looks like pretty much the entire STI parts catalogue. I'm most interested in the fact that the STI wheels are 7.5 inches wide; would that make it legal to run slightly wider wheels? (Victoria) I'm excited to see it in person this Thursday though |

I have a BRZ S Variant on my driveway lol
Didnt get the STI rims because of the horrible offsets, went with Work 11r's instead with STI lug nuts and Tein Street Flex coilovers. Also additional Genuine STI Rubber lip protection on the lip was added. Condensation build up on my taillights are getting another warrenty job again.. sigh.. |

I got the 18's which they aren't releasing here. I didn't see the point of spending money to upgrade the wheels to another set of 17's. Maybe to retain the fun factor I guess but you can still have fun with the 18's.
I was considering the skirts locally but now they've announced that they're only selling the kit and not splinting it for the foreseeable future... back to Japan to get what I want, again. |

Went to the launch, was nothing special. The WRX concept was pretty cool, but the S-pack is a little overpriced really..

I have a hypothesis on the whole official aftermarket parts thingy. I am wondering if performance upgrades such as brakes and suspension need to be re-assessed for ADRs. That is, there is additional cost involved for Subaru/Toyota Australia in bringing in "proper" performance parts.
