I wish they would of learned from the older BMW and put a thread behind the petal so you could use on of these.

http://store.uucmotorwerks.com/share...ts.asp&x=0&y=0

It makes doing this adjustment a 5 second job.

I don't think so. Its not a defect with the car.

mine is about a mm or 2 above the brake and it is perfect for me. I'm not worried about clutch wear and it made it to where the engagement is a lot closer than stock.

You can try. My dealership at the time didn't even know how to do it. I told them to forget it. It took me all of 5 minutes.

I would just try lowering it a little- you'll find even moving it a little is a big improvement with clutch engagement.

I highly doubt Toyota will do it for you, their answer will sound something like this, "Adjust clutch pedal? why would you want to do that? Toyota cars are perfect in every way!" Well maybe not the last part, but you get the point.

Do it yourself, it cannot be easier: Loosen one nut, rotate rod (one turn at a time), re-tighten nut, Drive and see how your like the adjustment. Like many of us here agree, adjust your clutch pedal down to the same level as your brake pedal.
Adjusting the clutch yourself gives you the ability to dial in what feels "right" to you, especially when the smallest of adjustment can affect the engagement point.

Just finished doing this a few minutes ago, only did the forward reverse testing but seems like I'm going to like this positioning a lot more. Note: I did have to use some pliers to be able to turn the threaded rod even with removing pedal pressure.

Thanks for the DIY!

I feel the same way. Although once i start tinkering/ playing/ experimenting myself, I can usually adapt to it. Nothing beats a good guide or Mentor -- which is why I look to these Gurus here lol

I do like to tackle each challenge on my own -- its just that much more satisfying in the end.

Ahhhh...the Old Z. I remember the days. She was a great ride ('04 350Z - bone stock). Heavy as hell, and with a FAT @$$ lol

I know this may sound like one of those "beat a dead horse" -- but if anyone can manage to post a quick Youtube/ vid (even if its just a short clip) -- it would be greatly appreciated. I'll send some change for a few Brews :happy0180:
