sigh. All I miss is cruise control, because it makes it very (quick and) expensive getting to track days.
BUT: Check. Lap. Times. and the immortal quote, ".... just add lightness" |

High spec FTW!!!
I got a BRZ which comes standard as High spec and im loving it. I'm coming from a Accord Exec which was full house so I couldn't have gone to standard spec. Best feature for me is cruise control and to a less extent the heated seats. Cruise control is just lovely when you are not on the track and lets be honest with each other, even if you track every weekend and the car is your daily driver you are spending only 30% of your time on the track at most. So cruise control FTW. heated seats: I easily get cold so they do a wonderful job of getting me warmed up quickly. And to finish it off. The high spec just looks better. Worth the extra 30k i would think so. |

Thanks for the good info bro. Yes ive had a look at them. There was a nice white one on autotrader which i was eyeing out curiously but when i had a look at it there were fine scratches on the hood and along the passenger door. Im starting to wonder if i should just wait a while longer to get a bigger budget to work with. As i said, i do not want to end up with something thats going to give me issues. I can get a new high spec for 320k so just wondering if i should wait until the end of the year to just get that... But it seems so far away, the wait could be excruciating |

I never rev my car over 4000rpm
I would never take it near a racetrack and I certainly wouldn't spin the wheels or do that drifting rubbish. I also don't smoke, don't drink, and don't chase women. I only have one bad habit left... I still tell a lot of lies Don't worry, our cars ain't made of glass - give it horns!!

Now I'm curious - is there a difference between the licence weight of a std and a hi-spec? Just checked - my std is 1220 Last month, I received a stunning photo of my car through the mail sent to me by the Midvaal Municipality - how very considerate of them. I got nailed in a radar trap about a kilo from the track despite having a radar/laser detector. Only problem was that I hadn't switched the detector back on because (believe it or not) it screams blue murder on Midvaal Raceway because it picks up a signal from a security system about a kilo away. Sort of ironic to have your radar detector going off on a racetrack...

[QUOTE=Fish Eagle;1790429]Yep. I haven't heard of any N/A 86 that's quicker than you (except Stiglet, but he doesn't count).
I was going to blush ... but then I remembered this, "I still tell a lot of lies " |

Im assuming you are financing, if so, you would pay approx R5 to R6k pm with insurance, so saving for 6months (R5k x 6months = R30k) would bring your budget from R260k to R290k, which is in the price range for a good quality High Spec 86. |
