Anti Theft Function
yes, I used the search function.
Sooo I was wondering if such thing exist in the FRS? when I said anti theft, I'm talking about... When door is locked via remote, if someone tries to open the door manually from the inside (assume they broke the window then tries to unlock the door), the alarm will go off. I remember when I had my RX-8, I was specifically told there is no anti-theft on it, but I scared myself when I tried to unlock the door manually from the inside when I locked the door with my remote while I was inside the car. Soooo I was wondering if there might be ANY kind of anti-theft feature that might be a "hidden" feature? |

The only anti-theft device in mine is the stick and third pedal...

There is NO anti-theft on this car, my friends have opened my door plenty of times while it was locked from the inside.

Actually, the anti-theft function does exist. I have triggered it myself a few times. Open a window, lock the car with the fob, and then try to open the door from the inside. It will go off. You can even see the light blinking on the dash!

I'm sure the FR-S and/or BRZ will have similar; from FRX's post it sounds like it does. Probably harder to test because you have to get the fob far enough away from the car that it doesn't authenticate you. |

The U.S.-spec FR-S does not have a alarm. The principal anti-theft device is a cut off related to the chip-embedded key. In addition, the key fob allows you to manually-activate the horn in an intermittent sequence. I have pocket activated it several times.

There is an ignition lock to where the car will not crank without being authenticated by the chip in the key.
