Yeah, it's from BestCar. Here's a LONG FT86 discussion thread on 2ch (in Japanese) that brings up that article.

Huh? There's nothing really surprising here. All they did was photoshop the swirly camo off the mule.

Don't see why you should be, it's pretty obvious. Some cars have tendencies to do one or the other due to weight bias, suspension setup, wheel/tyre width, engine placement or whatever, it just means there are different limits to explore for different cars. Go into a corner to fast in the most oversteering car you can find and you will still likely understeer into a wall. Lift off the throttle hard through a corner in an understeery FWD car, the ass will come round faster than a stripper who you throw $100 bills at.

I'm liking what I'm seeing thus far.
Sounds correct and looks that way to me too.

Yep they screwed you. Not surprising though as we are the #1 source for info on this car right now (thanks Hachiroku) and every one is coming here and ripping us off.

I'm really glad that cayman is still there because if the FT-86 has 90% of the cayman's handling ability I will be very happy regardless of hp/powwwaaaa.

Great video.
I too think it's setup is pretty neutral at the moment. The squealing is pretty normal at these corners for a whole lot of cars, at least for modern cars, that is. These corners that you see in the vid (Brünnchen namely) are banked off-camber. This is also one of the reasons you see the front wheel's camber move to positive. Judging by the video I think I can safely assume they are pushing the car right at it's limit. I have to say it looks pretty fast. I don't think I could keep up with my MR2 and I'm not exactly slow on the Nordschleife, but these guys obviously have a bit more experience.

Really? Interesting, I saw 162 - 167.33, repeating of course, HP in that video.

Hold on, let me check my book of baseless assumptions to confirm the correctitude of your calculations...

Yeah, at least that much if it has DI but . If it's 198BHP(200PS) or even 225BHP(230PS) like they've been saying that it could be then I think it will be <6 seconds to 62MPH.

It should only take 175PS to make a 1300KG car go 0-62MPH in 7 seconds. I still don't get why the low power still drives people to rage over it .

But "Damn the torpedoes" it better be light weight and cheap or I'll change my mind for the last time.
