Bummer. I heard on the radio it is moving at a rate of about 8 football fields a minute heading toward Chico.

Here is the view from my office. Air quality is off the charts bad. If you don't smoke, well you do now.

Random question. Got into discussion bout how to jump start the car. I thought when you connect the black (negative), you connect the black to battery (good battery) and connect the other black to some unpainted metal part of other car. (bad battery) My co-worker claim just connect the other black to bad battery... which I'm pretty sure it works fine, but I was thought not to connect the black to bad battery due to it can damage the good battery.

Maybe I'm doing old way? IDK

Yeah smoke is terrible here. For some reason the building my office is in either doesn't have AC on or something because I can still smell smoke strongly inside. My nose and eyes feel bad.

Batteries:
Mostly a safety precaution. There may be hydrogen off gassing that may ignite when you make the final connection completing the circuit between batteries.

A bad battery may be low on electrolyte and have concentrated hydrogen in the top of the cells.
A spark nearby may blow up the battery case. Maybe. Somewhere over the rainbow.
Low probability, but it has been known to happen.

Best practice is last connection to the block as far away from the + terminal as possible.
That will get highest amperage to the starter with the least loss through chassis grounds.

If you hypothetically had to evacuate due to fire, which car(s) would you save?

If I had his garage, probably the Porsche. Gotta be worth more in the long run, right?

Twin, 911, lotus.

3 drivers in the house. The trucks and civic can burn.

Our boogie bags each have gun, ammo, meds, walkie talkies, and cash.
