Just Ordered the Complete StopTech Brake Package from FT86 SpeedFactory

In order to ensure the FRS is safe for my upcoming run at Road Atlanta on May 19th, I ordered the complete StopTech brake upgrade from our friends @FT-86 SpeedFactory.

This full kit comes with front and rear cross-drilled and slotted rotors (OEM size), pads, and stainless steel, braided brake lines. To make sure I don't boil my brake fluid at the end of those long straights at RA, I also added 4 bottles of Motul 600.

As soon as the kit shows up, I will be posting pics of the install along with full driving impressions both on the street and at the track!

Scott

Wow! I really need to look more carefully where I post things. Mods, would you be so kind as to move to the Suspension/Brakes section?

Thank you kind sir!

I got an email from FT86 SpeedFactory and they said that the kit comes directly from StopTech so it may be 7-10 days.

Waiting for pics of cracked/failed rotors due to cross-drilled.

Came here for pics of Stoptech front/rear BBK and was disappointed.

I got slotted, never heard a good argument for the drilled rotors, and plenty reason not to run them

Everyone has their days when they just aren't as sharp or thorough as others and today is mine. My area of expertise is electrons and software, not mechanical and metallurgy or I would have picked up on this sooner.

After your comment I started doing some research on cast rotors with holes drilled in them and well, let's just say I won't be installing them on my car. I tend to take safety pretty seriously and after going over the facts, cross-drilled rotors just aren't safe for someone like me who regularly is running autocross with occasional track days.

I'll keep and install the pads, lines and fluid but the rotors are going up for sale as soon as I get them.

Scott

CORRECTION: I double-checked my order and these rotors are slotted only. Not drilled.

I have a quote underneath the glass cover on my desk that reads:

"A man with a conviction is a hard man to change. Tell him you disagree and he turns away. Show him facts and he questions your sources. Appeal to logic and he fails to see your point."
Leon Festinger; 1955

I learned a long time ago never to cling to tightly to widely held beliefs or conclusions and always remain open to contradictory evidence.

Thanks guys!
