Yup. I almost bought one last year. I dig the front end, I think this t-shirt says it all.

I am, however, perplexed with the ST's hood that never seems to be quite fully closed. As if someone had popped it but never opened the latch.

Hahaha! I may not agree with the MS3 styling, but that t-shirt should be a prerequisite to getting that car!

I found this photo on this thread and fell in love with it.

Swiftly after i found out who took this photo, i went on the hunt to find a print.
I kept asking direct detailers of the photographer who supply his photos (William Claxton) and i came up dry.

No one knows about this photo, even after 30+ galleries emailed.

Then i found one, i found one gallery that said they might have it. Before i asked them to really start looking (i wouldn't of wanted to waste their time) i asked for a mere quote.
$5,000 for a 20x30.

The fuck? 5K for a print? Wasn't a original, wasn't even signed and they said it would be around 5K. Sigh.

So here i am to this day, looking for this photo. I did however find one gallery that said they will get back to me in mid Feb about any info.

I had a 20x30 print from a photographer that shoots for Speedhunters, they charged me around $24 with shipping.
well, there are no original prints

you see, 30 years ago pictures were developed from negatives so all "prints" were essentially duplicates, and the quality of the print would depend on the printing house, their methods of developing, the quality of their enlargers and their choice of paper.

If you are in-fact getting a 20x30 enlargement done off a negative then the 5000 is justified because few places are left in North America that will do that for you.

if you're getting a print that was made 30 years ago then that too is valuable, because the paper the print was done on no longer exists, so you're paying for novelty.

If it's just a digital scan of the original negative (and what was the original negative) then you can probably haggle since once the scan is done it's pretty much free, the printing cost is cheaper this way.

I think that book is what i'll end up buying.

I'll keep looking though, i live very close to new york city, so i'll track down some galleries there and see what i can find...

I already knew all this, but more so the term original prints came from the Photographer known for doing a small number of prints (hand numbered and signed mostly by the photographer) himself and selling them to the public or dealers. Thats what i meant by original prints. These prints mostly fetch the highest sum because they were developed by the photographer or have their signature and so forth...

5K is justifiable for a negative taken to the dark room and turned into a print?

My high school use to do negatives for free way above 20X30 sizes, i use to go to photographer stores that would offer the same services and they sure as hell were no where close to 5K.

A digital scan is what i was looking for, which is basically what they were offering.

Those two are so similar in body work though that it's hilarious. It's basically bumpers and headlight/tail lights.

Then you have these two.

IMHO, the smiley grill isn't that bad. Plus it actually works on the 2, making it look cuter. Now the current gen Fiesta is just a ugly mix of corporate branding and that bumper bar. The new one looks way better but especially the ST.
